Crazy home built bikes

bickers trike 0Looking through old photos and found this one of a trike built by ex-GP rider Dave Bickers for the Weston Beach Race in the mid-80's. Made from a Honda CB1100, it was wheelspinning at 110mph down the mile-long straight, and pretty much snowploughed anything in it's way in the dunes. Anyone got any pics of other crazy bikes?

The company he started (Bickers Action) do stunts for the film industry and have created some awesome machinery, including the huge Trebuchet that threw cars on Top Gear a few years back

That's a beast! Is that a 1980 KX80 tank on there?

I can never remember his name, but a privateer built his own “works” bike in (as I recall) the early 80s. Hopefully someone posts a pic.

The tin can ? Chris Heiser rode a one off bike called the tin can. 82 I think.

That is nuts.... Used to have a pressure washer with the Lifan knock-off of that motor 😂

*Edit. Doubt it helps the vibration of the ol' CR haha

You wanna see a wild custom build that actually gets ridden.

This is a Harley custom DP bike.....lots of custom fabbing.       Great thread, start to finish.

Well, it's like this - I had 2 choices if I wanted something to ride: this or an e-bike. Whistling

I was no big fan of the '82 YZs, but every time I see that bike I think, "Man, what did it do to deserve having that done to it"? Grinning

I'm not knocking it my dude, any time riding is time well spent and I'll always respect anyone working with what they've got 👍

Plus we all know riding a slower bike fast is WAY more fun than riding a faster bike slow... hell I even had good fun on a TS 125 when I was young and the CR 390 would smoke that thing 😂

Are helper springs normal on twin shocks? That's interesting, never really thought about it before

That thing was on Craigslist (or similar) years ago and I just had to save the pics because I knew no one would ever believe me without them.  😂

Well I'm sure it beats not riding, but it's probably a good thing that the twist'n'go CR 390 isn't your pride and joy 😂

I'm sure many have seen this making the rounds over the years.

Judging by the background, it may be in B'ham for qualifying! Tongue

I had the exact same bike.

With a 500 CR engine instead.

My brother was good friends with Chris and i would go to the house sometimes.  I saw that bike in the shed behind their garage just rotting away.  Even being young i thought it was so cool.  At this point Chris was on Suzukis.
