its a ktm Dizzy
And it is 100cc's less than what the other fast guys are going to be riding.
IMO, there is no replacment for displacment in a situation where the top guys like (Stewart, Villopoto. Dungey) can ring out a 450 and use every last ounce of power of their factory built 450's.

In supercross I can see him having a better shot at it, because its much tighter, but in huge, wide open, flowing MX tracks where these guys can stay on the gas? I dont see a bike with 1/3 of the cc's missing is going to hang.

Happy to see James race (if it's true)...but, anyone that thinks he will walk the series is nuts.

Times have changed in two years. He's definitely the favorite, but, it will be a battle start to finish IMO.

450cc to 350cc is one third?

I'm not very good at math, but I'm going to take a wild guess and figure that you're worse. Smile

The 250cc 2s eventually outperformed the 500cc 2s. Maybe KTM is ahead of it's time.

It was a flat assed track. Won't happen with the hills we have here.

He said MAYBE and let's see if my memory fails me here. I can only recall one season that JS didn't wad it up on the big bikes and call it a season. Gonna be interesting for sure. Also gonna be interesting for L&M. They have 2 riders that both want to ride outdoors now and the mission has made it clear a few times in the past they had no plans of dishin out anymore dollars than they already do for the SX season.

Dearest R-acer,

EVERYONE that's ridden the Tree-Fiddy says it rails and it's the most 'BALANCED' pkg that they've ridden. Injected, Great suspension (I've heard it refered to as 'Very YZish"...), Fantastic feel in the turns & in the air...

But, hey, I'm sure you're smarter & better informed than the guys I'm talkin' about...Sleeter, Mikey, J.R.-the Wrench...etc.

I'm jus' laffin' at'cha...

Somewhere Mike is crying right now and Tony is cursing up a storm. I think its gonna take some luck for Alessi to find a podium spot much less a win. Not becuase of the bike, just becuase of the Comp. James, RV, Dung, Grant, Reed. Poor kid, I feel bad for him. Tony will just make him feel like complete crap all year.

Things are different this year for James and his team. It would make a lot of sense to contest the outdoors after having to sit out the SX season.

Also, as James mentioned, the job MX Sports has done with the TV packages and the series has been awesome for the teams and sponsors alike.

It might be the Perfect Storm of the outdoors in 2010!
I agree with your thinking. IF james decides to run the outdoor series this summer and is healthy one would have to consider him the favorite to win that championship.

Don't know about the cryin part but even without JBS it will be a hell of a season outdoors. I don't see JBS coming back to try to take the title, if he did get beat in a season long battle, it would not sit well with in his mind because he has stated he's all about the records now. I don't know of course but i think he is too proud to chance the Ryans threats and will most likely sit on his outdoor 450 championship and smile all the way to the bank! Just MHO of courseSmile

No offense to James, but I would rather see him retire. The racing is so much better when he's not in it. I'm tired of seeing the same guy win 90% of the races. We finally got it last year during outdoors and now this year in supercross.

I disagree spd, I've been eagerly awaiting the chance to see James and a seasoned Villopoto go at it in the Nationals. I think it'd be great racing even if the rest of the pack is 30 seconds behind.

Remember the epic battles between James and Ricky? Some of the best racing around.

Uh, yeah, I get the feeling that no-one was AT A-1...or...too many folks have short memories...

This game is no-longer James' to lose: It's all up in the air.

The Ryans, The Josh... The Chad ...The Mikester ...heck, even Morais might be on a "Works" bike ...don't even be foolish enouhg to count him out... Then there's the VERY HUNGRY Josh Grant (While talkin with him on Monday...it's like he can't get back in there soon enough; BUT!, he's got some great people advising him to do it RIGHT!)

Don't forget Brayton!

BTW, Trey... Works Honda 450? Outdoors?

While we're at it...some-one (Are ya listenin' Bobby, 500Guy...?) SOME-ONE could SLAP J-Law up-side the head HARD-ENOUGH to knock some sense into him...and then ...and then ...he might get BACK WHERE HE BELONGS!

Know this: The "Mystical" wonder that folks had with James is OVER!

I'm jus' sayin'...

Er Cairoli is having no problem with it against the 450s....

Get your facts straight.... Mike won't lose because of the bike.

Ahhh yes the promise of a new season, the scenario you layout would be so nice but usually ends up falling short of the high hopes we all have. Would be so nice if guys didn't get hurt and could run a full season at 100%.

As for James racing nationals, I will believe it when I see it. He has a show to do and this might make for good footage so who knows. Although the may have already concluded filming. I would say its a big MAYBE that he rides outdoors.

I'm not so sure that RV is all that seasoned on the big bikes outdoors... wasn't last year his first season on them... two races in and he was out.

He was fast by all means and looked good, but I'm not so sure about being "seasoned"... he certainly showed up for Daytona which is as MX as SX gets, so he should be competitive for sure...

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't a few of the 250f's at Daytona(Outdoor style track) lay down some pretty fast lap times that were comparable to the 450's.

I hope he does them and isnt just telling people what they want to hear. I dont see how he couldnt do them. If the guy has any competitive fire in him,and we know he does, how could he wait till next yrs supercross to win a title. All the RV2 fans are gonna be in for a rude awakening when they see Bubba outdoors again. Its gonna be a bitch to make the top five in the 450 class. Bubba RV Dungey Reed Grant in pretty much that order. Sick!

You're explanation doesn't validate labeling the bike a POS. If I'm not mistaken one of the best features of KTMs is the quality of all the parts they use on the bike. It might not be the best SX weapon but line up at any off road event and you'll see KTMs rule. Why? Because they last and are reliable. Translation - NOT a POS.

If James does the whole series what makes you think ANYONE can beat him. The guy is equally as sick at outdoors as he is indoors. Hes still the same guy, probably faster, that gave RC fits during the nationals. Never beat him much but he ran with him sometimes. Not saying RV isnt gonna eventually gonna be that fast just not yet. Great racing either way
