Thanks for the feedback! I do think we are leaning hardest towards Bastrop at the moment. I really liked the area when we came out to check it out.
damn $45 now? I refuse to pay more than $40 after it recently got raised around here, its ridiculous
if you dont already have one; i seriously recommend a good generator + fan setup. peak summer can be absolutely miserable out here but tracks will open earlier on occasion to beat the heat
I have lived in So Cal and now in DFW. You are correct, DFW is better.

You will be in heaven here in Texas. The heat will get you in shape. Swan, Badlands, Johnsonville, Village Creek, His 956 Facility (look it up) 3 Palms, River Valley and more.
Murphy's is the best track you have ridden? It doesn't even rank in my top 100. I can't think of anywhere within 100 miles of Austin that it ranks above. Maybe Creekside?
Whoa, back up the truck here for a sec...
Have you been to Austin? For sure it is definitely not another Portland.
Just from a motorsports point of view, in 2024 you can attend an F1 race, a MotoGP race, a World Endurance Cup (WEC) race (with killer new hybrid cars fro Porsche, Ferrari, etc.) all at CotA.
Don't forget good music, good college sports, good BBQ and restaurants.
Yes, housing prices are out of sight; humidity sucks; and traffic sucks but it is not Portland.
For sure above Creekside, but that’s about it. Spoaks is where it’s at in the Austin area when he actually puts in the effort to really prep it. It’s a bit further out, but Irondog is pretty awesome too. I rode there yesterday.
I'd call it the Portland of Texas. That's why every Texan hates on it. I just moved here from Washington in August, so I call it the Seattle of Texas. But in all reality it's just a smaller city with a lot of tech money, Californians, and really upset locals. Love it. Great tacos. Trash coffee. Give and take. Someone just needs to buy that AMP track and re-open it.
For the original thread I'd say live farther northeast Austin area if you can. More access to the tracks up north. But be careful, north and southbound traffic on i35 in/out of Austin can be terrible.
