Turns out it was arm pump.  Confirmed by Jeremy Coker and Eli’s team

My wild guess: Tomac does only SX this year knowing he's not winning the championship, he skips the MX season to rest up all summer, and then we get at least more one serious SX season next year.

This is a more likely scenario, to me, than him finishing sx and jumping right into the grind of mx.

Eli is done this year. Stamp it.

I would like nothing more for him to start clicking some wins off and get him all revved up to race outdoors as well

You're joking right? He just waxed 20 of the best riders in the world. He's getting better every week. He's exactly where he belongs. Still one of the best riders in the world. Even if you try to claim different. Every team manager would love to have him on their team.

Agreed, I would say this lit an even bigger fire under him, and add the bike problem on top of that. Yes was I sad when Jett won, of course but the torch ain't passed until jett beats all of eli's records. It will take a while and jett won't have it as easy as everyone thinks.

Eli is the guard and Jett is the change. Ain't going to happen overnight and don't kid yourselves into thinking Eli doesn't have wins left in him. Only a matter of time.

I think eli can still win, but jett needs to get a terrible start or eli needs to come through the pack and make the passes, I know eventually Jett will pass peoples records but its too early to write everyone else off. His 450 career will not be a walk in the park like he thinks it will. He will be put in his place at some point and maybe he stirs something up enough with someone and gets taken out. I just hope he gets put in his place and shown that these guys are all bad mofo's and can still beat him sooner than later.

If Eli woulda pulled that quad it woulda been a different race imo.  Eli is still very very fast and deserves all the respect in the world!! He will win this year he’s literally 6 points out second place.  I think we will still see some rookie mistakes from Jett this year.  The season is long and it’s not over till the last race!  Even if Eli was down a whole race I wouldn’t bet against him!

Put in his place? Where is that? Did we watch the same race? Jett straight up beat everyone fairly. He’s in his place….first place!

Thats the problem, he doesn't know how to lose and come through a healthy and stacked 450 field.

Hes in his first year on a 450 ( stacked class ) that comes with experience he's clearly the fastest out there , give respect where it's due

Jett has passed more top 7 guys than any other rider this year. Or atleast he had before he was getting good starts. No rider has been better at making passes than Jett this year.

That's the reason he is leading points. He had a lot of bad starts earlier in the year where he made lots of passes to finish in decent positions. If he couldn't fight through the field, he wouldn't be near the points lead.

While I won’t argue that he’s in a good spot because he’s fast and passed guys to get those points… has anyone passed more people than Tomac did last weekend? He was 16th at one point in that race. Jett straight up beat Tomac tonight, won’t deny it, but discounting Tomac as runner up at best is sad.

This comes after last week, when people said "If Eli got the start he would've smoked him"

Well this week he did get the start, then got passed then got dropped like a bad habit. So what do these people have to say about the 'beast mode'?

Now you are really talking out of your arse.  Jett is the only guy that’s been able to consistently make passes on the other top guys and get his way to the front.

RC grasping at straws during the broadcast saying that it’s nothing wrong with Tomacs riding style.

Yet Tomac lacks the finess of the best guy out there and needs to learn that if he wants to beat him.

The bar has been raised for how you have to ride if you want to be the best. Both Chase and Jett has a simular style and as long as Chase were fresh in the race and his hand kept up he were gapping Eli.

Eli needs to ride smarter, not harder. It’s clear that he don’t gain anything from riding around on the limiter, raping his clutch and just being overly agressive instead of being smoother.

There was definitely a sense of panic in Eli’s riding style when he saw Jett pass Chase.
you could literally see him panic and start riding like he hadn’t beforehand.

But Eli always ride like that. Look at all the ”beast mode” crap from media day. People were praising him just because he looked and sounded fast, and he often does.

The main problem is that the clock said otherwise. In his glory days he had better fitness than the rest, but now his competition have the same fitness but ride better than him so i am a firm beliver that he needs to clean up his riding to improve his results more then his fitness.

Absolutely that was noticeable,  dare I say it, it wasn't beast mode that kicked in it was more like panic mode.

Eli and Chase were betting on Jett making a mistake and capitalizing on it.  Frankly giving how gnarly the track was, I was expecting a Jett slip up.  The quad section was potentially disastrous and they both knew it wasn't worth the risk.  Props to Jett for hitting it and not making mistakes.  That was the difference maker in the race.
