Never liked forkner but has gone thru it, was rooting for him this year untill the stupid Jett crying Sandbagging on Ando´s post (Kenny´s falling in the same bag), but Deegan needs more empathy and awareness. I am sure no one wants to see a fellow racer or athlete get injured, and making comments about how you pressured into a mistake and then end it with welcome to the danger zone baby is quite bad taste.

Yeah, people have a short memory when it comes to Forkner. Just bacause he hit the ground they treat him like a saint now when he just a couple of weeks ago showed that he is the same old punk.

Well... I'd say yes and no. Hearing him on interviews he does seems more gratefully, willing and... not so cocky as he was 3 years ago so I'd say is a step forward.

And look, I kinda get he lashed over the Ando post but I don't like it, do it like a man, personally and not effing 3 years later lol

I guess you can't Un-Forkner Forner but he made strives so, while that Jett thing was quite crap credit where it's due, dude was hauling

It's kind of weird...

My buddy that I ride and bench race with said something similar to the OP as well.

I don't really hear Deegan saying anything out of order, but there seems to be a few people who are hearing something different.

We got the dub. You know great feeling to get the dub.

i don’t think he was an asshole. He just generally can’t speak. His lingo is very cringy/bro. And you can tell he is not a very smart guy out of moto.

mid still trade spots with him. And just stop wearing Gucci, supreme shit and talk like a normal human being.

People can be trained to act good when the camera is pointed at them, it's called being a professional.

But when you act out on social media and just being your self, things shine through. Just like Danger boy and Ken did at Andos post like you said. And Ken often throw his tantrums on instagram.

I don't buy in to forkners new persona just bacause he said the right things on camera this year.

Bottom line is he was gifted his very first SX win.

I was confused with that one too.  Deegan had reeled in Forkner and was on him like white on rice which may very well have attributed to the error by Forkner.

Lots of people apparently didn't watch this race, including the OP who apparently missed the podium interview immediately after the race.

I think Deegan appeals to the 25 and under crowd. He is a bit much with the Tongue out Gene Simmons style and the fight to the Death talk, USA rider talk but then chooses not to right for USA bla bla but he has an audience for sure and is an amazing rider to watch just not hear for me  LOLOL

He pretty much said he had Austin covered because he started seeing him make mistakes but he was also making mistakes which he didn't mention. I like his riding just not his talking,

Haiden reminds me a little of Cooper Webb when he got rolling. A lot of folks had and probably still do have issues with him but all he does is dig deep and put himself in good places. I like the attitude and fire.

Austin Forkner has been a humble dude FOR YEARS.....injury after injury. Finally comes back looking good in the second race of the year and cartwheels into oblivion, slamming into plywood covered concrete,...this could very well end his run.....

Deeg, shows no concern or awareness to the fate of Austin,,flips his bike, does a victory dance, etc,..did not hear any concern for a fallen SX brother on the podium.  I know young deeg is a hard charger, but this should be a lesson to reflection. There is a code in this family.

It sounds like you don't understand the word "perspective". 2 things can be right at the same time, just depends on how you look at them.

As a long time Forkner fan that was stoked to see him in California when he was still “a little kid” testing with Mitch…YEARS ago…and since then I’ve seen people post silly rants commenting about his statements, posts…girlfriends…etc.

Then there’s today…I’m sipping my morning coffee laughing my ass off at all the pearl clutching old men that have such a hard on over the things that teenagers say on the podium.

This week it’s Haiden Deegan. Oh, by the way…he’s a teenager.

Within the first 30 seconds of his podium interview Deegan pays Forkner respect by mentioning he was going fast, and hating to see him go down like that. After that he moved on with his interview and his excitement for his 1st SX win. Where is the problem?

The problem is that Brian landed the 360 before Pastrana. They’ve never forgiven him.

...and rightfully so, he had just won his first SX .Deegan is a Professional racer who is chasing a Championship with a point deficit. He needs to focus on himself and not think about the shit that bites.

Stop being a fucking tool.

No one likes to see a competitor get hurt including Deegan. He may not say so but he is human.

Go listen to the press conference and post race interviews with him. He feels for Forkner. Also just let him celebrate his first win. He just won. I swear if people say he won because forkner crashed, racing is racing CRASHES HAPPEN. It’s like saying Chase was gifted the championship because Eli exploded his achilles.

Appears both of those exact things are completely true.

Forkner had opened back up a little gap but whatever. Every wins is earned and deserved. This is silly. Yes, every title from 2007-2010-ish was a gift because RC retired. And all Dungey's titles post RV are gifts, blah, blah, blah

She's a non factor as she was in the trucks but I hear similar lingo during the interviews, "were Rookies" , "were learning"
