does seat bouncing pre-load your suspension shooting you higher, therefore acting like a pogo stick. Or does sitting down change the angle of your take-off, making you go higher/further

Actually, the crux of the seat bounce argument was, "does it actually do anything?" TFS' position was that it does not. I am on the side of "yes, it does make the bike fly higher."
