are you debating with yourself… what debate? fourstrokes took over long ago and are never going away… I own both and both are fun! Get over it, speak with your wallet the correct way … and go ride something!
It's simple. Four strokes are garbage.
And, with all that titanium I’m still broke!
But, it sure is pretty 🤩
I've been looking for an alternative and this is it!

As much as I want the op's theory to be true, if you ask any woman that is in an amorous mood if she prefers 4 strokes or 2 strokes, she will give you a disappointed look.
You may have better luck then inquiring 125, 250, or 450.....followed by telling them you will be running a two moto format
She's probably going to say, "What difference does it make? Expecting either one is wishful thinking on my part and just setting myself up for more disappointment."
Or silicone!!!
If we are talking just sound,2 Strokes win every time for me. My favorite engine sound.
Girls always loved to go for a ride on my 98 CR250.
One of my buddies took it for a spin and his hands went numb from the vibration and he crashed and slid across a large mud puddle on his back. I was 240#'s , he was 140#'s so it was a little stiff for him. He was riding it at a sand track. He got kicked and blew over a berm into the puddle with stagnant water. Needles to say He was not as much of a fan of the bike as his GF and her friends were. After getting a CRF I stopped having requests for trail rides. Now I know where I went wrong with my life.................
MXA summed it up in the 2014 KTM 250SX test - “Yes, four-strokes are easier to ride. Yes, four-strokes deliver their power in broad, mellow doses. Yes, station wagons are more useful than Porsche 917s. But, which would you rather drive?”

98 cr250 eww that’s 1 amazing engine. A little hard to jump off a big braking bump and land in a corner rut and rail. Like a 125 but it is a 250. And an Awesome 1 at that.
...and which one takes more skill to ride fast.
I love how MXA pretty much always nails it.
I liked my 01 the best out of the 98,00 and 01 CR250's I owned. I went to a CRF in 02 and never rode one of the case reed 250's. I loved the way the 98 sounded. It was the best sounding of them. I had an FMF on it and PC on the 00 and 01. I got some special needle jet for it and was told to run a PC pipe and shorty silencer. It ran awesome and really barked. But the FMF on my 98 just sounded better to me.
I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for 2 stroke Hondas.
I also like " If you’re in the market for a new bike in 2014, you owe it to yourself to put the KTM 250SX two-stroke on your short list. It’s lighter, cheaper, easier to maintain, quicker, better handling, quicker stopping and makes more horsepower per cc than any four-stroke"
Yep, I saw that. There’s too much truth in the whole article
Now, these bikes have become too over complicated. Too bad. The KTM 2-strokes from then would run circles around the ones today. Lighter, cheaper, faster, easier to work on. It’d be nice to see a lap time comparison of a 2014 vs 2024. 😏
I love how people equate “more difficult to use” with “better”.
It's not simply a matter of "harder to use equals better," it's far more complicated than that. Obviously, by any objective measure, especially in racing, a machine that goes faster more efficiently is the better tool for the job. But, we, as humans, have a weird need to anthropomorphize nearly everything, including cars and motorcycles. And as noted fellow bike enthusiast Sir William Lyons said, "The car is the closest thing we will ever create to something that is alive." And it's those little flaws, things that make you work with the machine, which allow us to develop that connection in our heads with it. The feeling that something that demands less of or doesn't need a pilot to work stands in the way of that. It's why the "save the manuals" movement exists.
It's why, when I've got a late model car with better pedigree, far more horsepower, WAY better brakes, handles more sharply, and is undeniably far more comfortable, I'll sneak my ancient Mustang with more miles than a $10 Long Beach prostitute out for a spirited Saturday morning drive. Or why, when I have a new Superbike with electronic everything, including suspension, that could only be described as absolutely ruthless, I jump on my old 919 that I had to rebuild after we were run over. The CBR is better in every way, but the old Hornet is like a big, happy, dumb, puppy that can't help but wag its tail and shake its head and is just happy to be with you. Or why, when I could have a four stroke, I keep my old CR. The new 450 is going to pull it anywhere, but there's something just so satisfying about getting it right, and it's tough enough to do so that you always have to work for it. I guess a prize is meaningless if it comes with no effort is the best way to put it.
BTW, for the record, Mrs. Outsider has always chosen two strokes as being her weapon of choice, and can't stand how four strokes sound.
