I once visibly saw a woman get less interested in me when after she asked why I was in such a good mood and I responded my cone valves had just finished being revalved so I could ride that weekend... I can also confirm that the coolness of riding 2 strokes is lost somewhat when you start talking about what jetting you're going to run.
4-strokes are here to stay, but I think there was better racing and a better atmosphere with 2-strokes. Everything was a little more fun and racey.
