Did he not just influence how i feel about him? If i follow him on twitter because he posts updates on riders then i read how else his views portray me as a bad person... its my fault i took it that way? Listen i believe in free speech and Steve can say what he wants. Its up to me to continue to listen. But to say he cant decide how people view him? wow

But you don’t have to pay anything to listen to Pulp. It’s free on multiple platforms. He can say whatever he wants on his free podcast. You don’t have to listen and get so triggered. Pretty easy.
My point is, when i get on my phone excited to get some moto industry news from (back then the only guy really getting the news) and read a bunch of shit about politics and how basically he thinks im a piece of shit for being a conservative, i dont like the guy or want to support anything he does. Now, i have to explain myself to people who seems to care way to much about why i feel the way i do. All caught up?
Obviously you didnt read any of my other responses. Ive said exactly what you just said. Yes, Steve can say whatever he wants. Its up to me if i want to tune in or not. Back when he was really on his politics kick there weren't a lot of other places to get moto pods. Fast forward to now and i have plenty of options and like you said, choose to go elsewhere as is my right just as it is his to spew hateful politics.

Matthes will post rider updates and text convos and what not about moto then the next thing you know you're getting dumb shit about Gun rights or school shootings. Id rather keep it consistent ya know?

Yep, and Whiskey is a good show that is all of 30 min in most cases. Steve's show is much more than just moto, it's about the band of characters, co hosts, and story lines that build on each other. Is he perfect? No. Neither am I. Do they go on and on about topics other than moto sometimes (baseball, cars, who Darkside is dating ect)....yes. Does that make the show better? Sometimes and sometimes no, but the overall content is great. If you want just moto, the review pod every week is just that. The Pulp show is a very different deal and I cannot remember any political rants, so you must not listen consistently.
Another awesome show every week is Winners Take Y'all, but whatever you do don't listen to that if all you want is straight moto content. Funny shot though from Kevin Kelley and his buddies.
You would be correct. I gave up on his content a long time ago. If the tune has changed id gladly go give it a try. Some seem to be mistaking my disdain for him as person as me boycotting him. I would gladly listen to his stuff if i knew for certain i could just get moto and moto only. as you said though, if the show consists of whos dating who and things of that nature i will still probably not listen all that often. Time is limited and i dont want to sift through all that.

I quit listening since I can't play pulp fantasy, just seems pointless.
For what it's worth (doesn't matter to me if someone does/doesn't listen to a podcast) I started listening 3 years ago and the only politics I hear are little one liners a few times a year like "I bet FOX told Phil to not watch the super bowl" or "I started talking Trump with RV and Mitch, so you can imagine how that conversation was going", which to be fair, was about as often as I heard Ping throw little digs in here and there to the Whiskey Throttle interviews I've listened to.

I would rather listen to Matthes talk politics than listen to any more of Weege is cheap, JT packs his lunch, and Keefer's dick talk. Holy shit, give it a rest. Maybe half the show is moto talk, just wade through the other stuff and it is tolerable.
The main thing that bugs me about Matthes is his whiney-baby attitude toward his competition. It's like nobody can say one word in a critical manner with him...that he doesn't take super personal and get all upset about it. All said and done, I'd 10x rather listen to Gypsy Tales or Whiskey Throttle than to Pulp.
Funny, i'm just on the opposite side of the spectrum. Ping used to be OK, not anymore, and Gypsy... No, just a big no. BTW, i had the chance to interview Steve Matthes for an upcoming feature in our print magazine in Paris SX, and he could not have been nicer to me. To me, he's the podcast pionner (with DMXS, i don't forget them) and still the best by far. And i never heard him talk shit on his "competition". Isn't he the guy regularly inviting other media outlet on his shows, like Lewis, ML or Michael Antonovich?
You can’t control peoples feelings, if you are allowing someone else to control how you feel I’d seek therapy. You are the one choosing to be offended or not. Depending how much weight you put in his words. If you don’t put worth into his world view you can brush aside those opinions and carry on with your day.
like I think Kanye West is a deplorable human. But his first 3 albums are some of the best hip hop ever made. I can compartmentalize the two.
