Inside stadiums is just MX/SX fans and he doesn’t get near the most cheers, but the most boo’s. 

He doesn’t have any notoriety outside of MX/SX

He doesn’t have a large social media presence

He doesn’t have any big time personal corporate deals/endorsements outside of Redbull. (And no deals other riders don’t also have). 

What metrics are you using?

But anyway, you can’t say the only metric I use (social media presence) doesn’t work if you can’t name not even 1 other.

So again, Jett is a generational talent. But he isn’t a star in terms of popularity. Not even within this sport, nevermind outside the sport. Deegan is a star both within and outside of the sport. He came with a following, Jett did not. End of story. Deegan can add eyes from outside the sport to the sport (from his existing fanbase), whereas Jett doesn’t have that fanbase to do the same with. He doesn’t do anything outside race and exist within the mx/SX community.

Deegan is already a star, that’s the difference. 
 

I get you are a Jett fan, that’s fine. But he’s not a star. Go to the track and listen to the crowds. Look at his online presence. Don’t just listen to what the broadcast tells and shows you. You’ll realize he isn’t THAT popular amongst the fans. And outside of the sport? Zero notoriety. He’s not a star.
