Being a super fan of a team is much different that being a fan of an individual. I'm a huge fan of the National Champion Michigan Wolverines and the Detroit Lions who went deep in the playoffs, but I'll be damned if I'm going to buy a jersey with another man's name on my back.
I'm not sure if you are referring to me as a super defender but I was on record last year saying I was equal parts wanting him to go undefeated and to miss by one race. Either would have been a great story.

No need for anymore Jett threads, those two sentences sum everything up.
To the point that the go to reason is "American's hate foreigners that win" narrative, to me I don't care where he comes from but only in how he handles his success and failures in the public eye. Hate is such an over used word that is used in the place of tired of...we are tired of the over exposure that for the majority was intentional and brought on by his management. We are tired of his super fans that were making insane claims so early in his career path. We are tired of some of the dumb shit he says and does, the KR incident, the MC comparison, the JA incident and the way he and his team handled (or didn't handle) it, his response regarding the mud race and how he disrespected his competitors with that comment...hopefully he is able to learn from this and correct the path he is on.
When they were showing Jett pick his gate, did you notice that Jason anderson was right beside him? Everytime they showed Jett picking his gate Jason was also right there.
It was the first time they were on camera together after the blow up . Can You remember a time were something like the exchange that they had blew up? I don't remember many relatively small misteps like that , that blew up like it did. They wanted to be there just in case something happened and show it live. With the crazy amount of interest in the incident , I think they did the right thing. Just imagine if they started talking and things got heated again. But they totally missed it. People would be going nuts asking how could they not have had cameras on them.
Now knowing nothing happened, it is easy to say they could have just recorded it and shown a playback or not at all. But put yourself in the place of the producers. They were trying to make sure they got the action.

I had written down a list of all the times they unnecessarily cut away to show a non-important clip of Jett @ A2... I barely got thru the 2nd 450 race and gave up. I wasted too much energy to show the people the truth and I got arm pump writing down all the incidents... about time someone else showed the over-saturation. Thank God. I love this.

Watching that little helmet grab, yell fest brought me back to mid-2000's Seattle(I think) when Chad grabbed James by the back of the neck after a little bar banging spat. And then they met and had more words on the podium and everyone wanted to know what they said to each other (Erin Bates was interviewing them). Only difference was they didn't have Twitter to chirp on after.
This stuff happens in the heat of the battle, now Chad rides at the JS7 compound.

The funny thing in my opinion is having a goal of 72 should be an honor for Mcgrath. The people who should be pissed are Villopoto, Bubba, Tomac, Reed, RC and Dungey. Those guys are greats of the sport who have put in years at the top and they are just afterthoughts. Hahaha
I think you just answered your own question to the thread. That's a long list of greats who according to you should be pissed at Jett, so hopefully you've helped yourself understand the Jett hate as you call it.
It is interesting that 72 is the goal, not 150.
Also interesting that wins are the goal and not beating 7 SX titles or 15 overall titles.

He did say his main goal was as many championships as possible. I got the vibe he was talking about a record.
So…did Jett miss a second press day in a row? I didn’t see him. This isn’t helping. It feels like he is being sheltered from questions about boos and Ando. Face the questions. Before the “they only go to so many press days” gets thrown out…missing two in a row is pretty rare.
