I’m just here so I don’t get fined
This was after race 2? They only ever interview the moto winner. Why would they even be offering an interview?
Is everyone required to be available for an interview after any heat/LCQ/main, regardless of their position? Not keen on the rules for this.
What a chicken shit penalty. Coop was sick and looked like hell...hacking all over the podium.
Then they put him in the presser hacking constantly with the potential to make AP and Tomac sick. Brilliant.
The idiocy of the AMA appears to show no signs of abating any time soon.

Never change AMA. Man I was hoping since JBone got on it would course correct.
Only after the final race...
One sad possibility involves someone actually whining to the AMA after getting denied an interview. Hope that's not the case...but how else would the AMA get wind of such a minor issue?
Wow, I did not know the AMA could penalize someone for refusing an interview. Not really a Coop fan, but that sucks.
AMA can't make exceptions for sickness or every rider will claim sickness. It's no big deal and Star is probably happy to pay his fine.
Also, the fine is for missing an interview for the broadcast not some random moto journalist.
as JA21 once said, "AMA can suck it!"

So do teams have to give permission for interviews? Or riders must be available? Boy this is all so confusing!
pretty damn brazen to make someone pay their own entry fee of hundreds of dollars and then require specific performance of tasks related to the show, as if they are a worker. I guess there is prize money involved, but these little fines just don't sit right with me. This is like nickel and diming your own performers who show up and work effectively for free in most cases
There is the whole thread on the moto media not being given access to riders and Feld/AMA does nothing about it....but God forbid, the broadcaster misses their opportunity for the rider to thank their sponsors, wives/girlfriends, parents and dog on air.
We are a joke.
Can you name one professional sport that doesn't have broadcast media availability requirements for the athletes?
The broadcasters pay Feld, they are entitled to their pound of flesh.
There's a glitch in the matrix... someone deleted posts.
“I’m just here so I don’t get fined.”
Same thing except Coop doesn’t care about the fine. I swear… Some of y’all get way too personally invested in shit that doesn’t pertain to you at all. Every day there seems to be something everyone wants to breakout the pitchforks for.
Pit Row
He needed to go to number2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So we’re mad when the ama doesn’t enforce rules, but we’re also mad when they do
got it
They could try being consistent!
From what I recall, they have been pretty consistent with this rule
Kinda like when a football team looses
and the 49er fans are crying, stating fights because the team lost, where the players don’t give to shots and go about there night
How much is that fine?
Probably a pittance, especially for Coop....but it's the principle in my opinion. I could see it if he was just bein a dick about it, but i'm betting he had to refuse because he was ill.
Tomac should bring a cardboard cutout of Webb like Sherman did for Lynch
So a dude who has millions in the bank from racing (and winning championships) and is still making millions racing gets fined what, $1K, maybe $2K for not showing up? That's like a regular guy who has $500K-$1M in the bank making $200K per year getting a speeding ticket for $100-$200. pfft
