Yah fight to a degree. But often when a faster guy is trying to pass a slower guy. Both racers end up going slower and going backwards. There are many times where a rider gets passed, learns the lines of the guy who passed them and them move up through the pack. And the rider passes them back. Whos to say that if Jason had let Jett pass that they did not work their way into second and third? or first and second.
Of course its not the correct tactic in every situation.
So You feel like Jett was doing the right thing when he was blocking Colt Nichols than too right?
I'm not saying just pull over right away. But if somebody is still on you after 2 or 3 laps. Even with You taking away the good lines. At that point You will be both starting to go backwards most often. If a guy catches You and You block his line in a few corners or for a lap. But multiple laps of blocking just hurts both guys. If You have the choice of lines and the guy behind you is still going faster. You might learn something by letting him by and seeing what they are doing.
I did not think that Anderson was riding slower to the point that he should have let Jett by. I was just defending JT's point of view.
On the contrary. This sport is different from even a few short years ago. With bike's prices and gear prices going through the roof the demographic of this sport is getting older, more cosmopolitan, richer, and more sophisticated. MXers a not the yokels Matthes, JT, and Weege imply.
They were fighting for a top 5 position. It's not like they were in the back of the pack. It's also common for the "faster" rider to get frustrated and make a mistake when they can't get around, especially in a mud race. There's no reason for Jason to not make it as difficult as possible for anyone to get around him. That's the definition of racing imo.
The leader and second place will often slow down when they have a block fest and let the pack catch up. I understand that to you racing means doing everything possible to finish in front of your opponent.
I was just trying to provide a point of view on why JT might not still agree with what he said.

The amount of complaining in this thread, JFC. No one is paying for the content, right? All of the RacerX podcasts and the Pulp Show, Moto:60, Privateer Profile etc etc are free. Steve, JT and Weege don't owe you anything. I've listened to them all since 2010/11 era and enjoy the content. I don't always agree with the takes. Life would suck if I agreed with everyone else's take and got exactly what I wanted.

JT use to be my favorite but I honestly dont see the point in having him on anymore he has no real opinion anymore, its all playing it safe which I get. But lets move on.

THANK YOU!!!!! I loved the show, I can agree to disagree with some of what they say, but overall, we get to enjoy some great points of view that we didn't used to get! Some folks need to get out from behind the keyboard and ride their dirt scooters!!!!

So when he said that Anderson should have let Jett by, that was playing it safe? With who? Everybody and Jt's sisters pants are on him for having that opinion. Both racers wear Alpinestars gear . A brand that WPS distributes. Monster is the title sponsor of the series and the rider he said should have backed down.
Perhaps he is staying more on the neutral side than in the past. Or maybe the people being vocal about what he has said just have different opinions. Or he just might not have as strong of an opinion on a subject they have discussed since he started the new job.
I tell my customers that for me to be able to help them with deals,I have to be in business to be able to do that. That might mean not being able to give as big of a discount as they want, or do something as quickly, etc. Perhaps JT has to play things a little safer now so that he can keep as many people happy and be able to do the job's that he has. And be in position to really make it count, on the big stuff.
I get it now, 99% of people on here really do not care to try and see things from opposite points of view, nevermind try and understand how or why the person came to have that point of view.
This is deeply problematic if you're supposed to be providing informed commentary. You need to independent from the stuff you are commenting on, in other words, objective.
I have felt like JT has always tried to behave like a professional since he represents fly (or others when he was racing). I also think it tends to look even more like playing it safe as a contrast Matthes just firing off hot takes all the time.
It’s not a “broadcast review” show. They talk about the race and their weekend at the race. Most times they haven’t even watched the broadcast since they were there in person. Anyone who thinks Weege or JT are going to bite the hand that feeds for a few positive comments on the internet from random users on a message board are completely out to lunch.
Of course he got booed because of the Anderson thing. 3 weeks befire people were going crazy at A1 when he won it.
Do you want them to be independent, or informed? Because both of those things in the same person isn't happening in this sport. It's a balance. They're doing fine with it.
The Keefer sex stuff is revolting.
So don't listen. Pretty easy.
i dont get the jt hate. he is a really good dude, and he is great on the broadcast/podcasts. you dont agree with his take on something? disagree and move on. a thread or comment on vital isnt going to make him change his stance on anything. no one is going to talk shit on their employer on a public radio show and if anyone says they would theyre lying. that guy that used to be a flagger and jt are killing it as they always have.
That's my solution
Weege and JT are top notch. Steve isnt my cup of tea.
