Exactly. Coming back a year later to kick him while hes down is lame. If you werent gonna say anything before dont say it now that he looks like an easy target.

I was actually kinda trying to tell myself recently that after forkners ride in outdoors where he was in last place and kept riding and then seeing him trying some new stuff and working with rhyno that maybe hes not the same douchebag anymore that hes always been. I had convinced myself that maybe this was a new, few years older, more mature forkner. Then he does something like this and its just like come on bro.

As a military vet seeing him go out of his way to shit on the current generation of service members completely out of the blue and calling them soft from the comfort of his home, it reeeeally rubbed me the wrong way. Why even go there? Completely unnecessary. That was a few years ago though so I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and thought that after all the crashes maybe hed grown as a person and would start to actually act humble for once. Not looking like it now unfortunately. As they say though you bring back the energy onto yourself that you put out into the world, so I’m sure him being a complete d-bag is at least partially responsible for the way his career has been going lately. He should try out the humble thing and see if that helps. Its working out pretty good for AP recently.

Some of these kids need to learn the context of what happened in that race before comparing the King to Jett.

First of all, Jeremy didn't come over and start yelling at Bradshaw, it was the other way around. Second, Jeremy didn't send his dad or mechanic or anyone else to apologize or to talk to the press and protect his image. He talked to the TV crew himself, he owned up to it. Completely different scenarios, not even close.

Third, and more importantly, nothing came of it. That wasn't even the biggest drama during that race. Larry Ward lost control, jumped across two sections of hay bales, cut the track and went right into his teammate Chicken. They both went across the finish and then Chicken punched Ward. $200 fine and back to racing.

Vital MX: So now I want to talk about ‘93 Indy. I the heat race Jeremy McGrath came over on you out of the gate a little bit. You went into a hay bail. Do you remember what was said? What are your memories?

Damon: I'm glad you gave me this opportunity because I'm not sure how long ago it was, but somebody had sent me something and Jeremy set up a little camera to kind of clarify because everybody was asking questions, “Hey, what were you guys talking about that night? And he was sitting in his fancy house in California having coffee and he was videoing while he was doing that, which is pretty cool. It was kind of a neat setting. We don't have that option here. I'm just sitting in my little old log house in the mountains in front of the fireplace having a whiskey. I'm not having coffee right now. So, he told the story really well and pretty much verbatim, but he left out the main reason that I was pissed off that I was talking to him about. And there were hand movements, and I was trying to explain. So, all the other stuff was racing. Nobody likes to have their line taken away. And especially at that position in my career, it was even harder to accept that. But the reason I was pissed that he left out of his story the morning he was having coffee, and I’d like to add that he is older than me, so maybe he's more forgetful than I am. It's not much. But anyways, he left out the portion that he was moving over on me in the air. It's one thing on the ground. And I had that issue with a few guys that we obviously had talked about it, but he was drifting on me in the air and that was what pissed me off and what I was trying to state. I was saying, “All the other shit is racing. We may not like it, or I may not like it, but don't drift in the air. That’s what he left out. So, that simplified that. There was one other good Jeremy moment which I don't get a chance to flip him much shit because I was at the tail end of my career, and he was definitely on the rise. But the ‘97 national at Mount Morris, the one we were just talking about, I will never forget, I remember the exact corner that he was laying on the ground when I was coming around to lap him. He was on Suzuki that year, it was super muddy, and he was having a hard time even picking up his bike in the mud. And so, I just I kind of enjoyed that. And then obviously being able to top the day and be able to get the overall on the Honda that nobody else wanted to ride, we were pretty much a privateer team. So, it was a pretty cool moment. And just seeing him lying on the ground as I was laughing made me feel pretty damn good too.

I'm sure this has been brought up in the 40 pages of various Jett threads...

It's funny how Jett and Hunter have both thrown a wobbly, for the same/similar reasons, and grabbed a dudes helmet and gotten agro?

Has anyone else gotten hands on in the past couple of years besides these lads?

Everybody gave Jett a pass when he cross jumped from one side of the track all the way to the other side and ended Forkners season. Let the poor guy get his pound of flesh - Jett did him dirty

Bunch of sad people who can’t ride fast enough to beat him, what about Sexton who had such a huge shit fit he refused to race half the nationals. Or the fact that JA was just holding him up? Still nobody can beat Jett with just SPEED. The disrespect is pathetic - can’t wait for the years to roll on and the records to all be crumbled and all the washed up racers will eventually, you guessed it, bend the knee.

Father time is on his side, unlike all the others.

To be fair, obviously that incident was terrible for Forkner and Jett was riding a little wild, but he caught a peg on a tuff block, it wasn't a choice to cross jump, shit happens.

If Forkner kicked off at the time it would be understandable, but waiting a year to piggyback on Anderson's post is kinda weak.

The PC Glassman needs to actually show up at some point. How many seasons have him and AC suffocated rides for actual contenders? I appreciate Mitch for his loyalty, but cut your losses at some point.

What's weird about it (IMO), is that when he does attack Jett for it.. he doesn't attack Jett for riding erratically and causing the injury. Which is the obvious reason to be mad at Jett... and honestly has every right to hate him for that

But it's the fact Jett went to see Forkner after the incident (Anderson complaining Jett hasn't made any attempt to speak to him) and Jett was upset about it (Anderson complaining he didn't apologise in any way).. Like I suppose Fornker is going for the cry baby angle, but his experience is almost the exact opposite of what Anderson was pissed about and Fornker just seems oddly pissed about the wrong part of the situation He's pissed about Jett trying to do the right thing. Not about him fucking up his season

Maybe Jett can't control his media dudes trying to control his image.

Maybe Jett could care less what Dad thinks about all this.

Maybe Jett is a badass who doesn't give s*** about Jason's feelings, and will just let the winning do the talkin'.

Maybe Jett could care less about the keyboard and social media b****s that think he's a "kid".

After all Jett is a 3 time national champ, and probably does believe he can get to 72.

I think his behavior leaves little doubt he is still a 20 YO child.

Lucas Mirtl reminds me of Led Zeppelin’s manager, Peter Grant. Bossy, Pushy, thought he was part of the Show. Dickhead Supreme , but gets results.

A part of me believes Mirtl deserves some blame for how unlikeable Jett has become as of late. The media blackout, posting for Jett instead of making him speak up personally, pushing fan zone plugs in apologies… in an attempt to handle everything PR-related for him, he’s allowed Jett to be unaccountable for when things like this happen.

Not to excuse Jett, but this would’ve been dead by Sunday had his agent done his job correctly, and forced his client to apologize personally.

Absolutely. I can remember multiple times when I was younger where I aired some dirty laundry, convinced I was in the right, and it took me a couple of days of grappling with it and sitting in my own discomfort before I could get the perspective necessary to realize I was in the wrong. After that it took another little while of sitting in the mire before I realized how simple it would be to just apologize and rectify the situation. It's not the falling down that people judge us on long term but the manner with which we get back up. I feel like Jett's team really fucked with his opportunity for growth in their desperate attempt to control the PR narrative. I get handling social media when it comes to content sharing and the like, but exploiting that business relationship to present their own beliefs on a conflict as his own is dishonest and manipulative.

If his circle of family/team/agent/sponsors/etc felt they were being represented poorly that's what their own social media pages are for. Let the kid shit the bed and decide if and how he wants to clean it up
