"The King won 72 races and kept it 100% real till this day."
Jason Anderson, handing out reality, 2024.
Somebody will eventually win 73 races and be crowned the new King, it may be a current rider, or somebody who starts racing in the future, records are made to be broken.
Can you give us your thoughts on popular music ?
Besides his 72 wins being on letterman, he never quit riding and racing which is super rad. He shows up to the races and is a fan of the current racers and an ambassador of the sport for many companies.

He's been to SEVERAL Taylor Swift concerts...
You are gonna call other peoples opinions stupid and not valid but you are stupid enough to think Craig can win a 450 main?
End thread....this guy doesn't live in the real world.
Some primo shitposting in this thread.
The King is the guy that ushered in the modern era of supercross, that's the problem with OPs premise. Even with equipment, the yz250 that Jared Lesher qualified for 2 sx mains on last season isn't that far off from the yamaha MC rode.
I went to my first Supercross somewhere in the early to mid 90s. I went back the following year to see one guy ride a bike. I couldn’t even remember his name. But it wasn’t just that he rode a bike. It was how he rode that bike. He had something different than anyone else that was on that track.
Supercross became my favorite sport and I’ve been to literally over a hundred Supercross races since. Because I watched one guy riding a motorcycle that connected with me.
That guy happens to be the king. He happens to have more race wins in Supercross than anyone else. His name is Jeremy McGrath.
That’s why it matters.
Nobody will beat his record of being on Letterman!
Elvis is still the King.
MC will forever be the King. There will never be a replacement, even the GOAT had to earn his own rightful nickname.
Not only 72…Dude took the sport on his back and carried it to the mainstream . The Nac Nac really did start the whole freestlye revolution. He cool style was undeniable and everything he did was cool. The gear sets ..The helmets he did…the hair styles …The outside sponsor’s he bought in . He is always will be THE KING
I've got some bad news for you, Elvis is dead, sorry for your loss.
He’s still the King, even after death. That’s the point.
there is only one GOAT

Nicknames are not repeated or passed on. MC was soooo good he had two. Showtime and KING. Now and forever.
Tyson was a study of the older boxers. Spielberg was a study of the older filmmakers. yet in Supercross there's an arrogance. "WE Are here now". nope. always revere the past champions, for this would not be happening as you see it, but for them.
It's widely known that McGrath used his bmx technique to stay low over jumps. and that's not discounting his speed, which to Mike Tyson's philosophy was spot on. relaaaaxed. Tyson always said a dangerous fighter is a happy fighter. McGrath was a happy racer. and GUESS WHO is now on the scene as a happy racer. or just wait for Anaheim II.
I sent you a DM.
A Scotsman and an Australian were both called "the flying freckle", and both raced AMA Supercross Daytona 1988...
Jeff Ward on the left, Jeff Leisk on the right!
Not sure if its been said but he beat rc in 99 and 2000. So many greats he smoked. Stanton. Bradshaw. Lusk. Windham.etc .Hes the fuckin king. End of story.
Pit Row
Yeah wake me up when they get close...until then everyone needs to to STFU on anything regarding MC's record...Especially Jettsie and his team...
Why is this a question?
7 SX championships and 72 wins.
Will never be broken.
And only one is a legend...
LungButter I sent you a DM
I agree...
https://amxhistory.com.au/motocross-legend-leisk
Yeah....ok....Leisk was good but was a nat on on Wardy's ass in comparison...
MC's relevance is dictated by fans veneration. Fuck the 72 wins, it's a number an ignorant, but skilled, kid like Jett Lawrence can say he aims for. Jeremy will not be measured by numbers, he was cool, he was good to his fellow competitor, good to his fans and sponsors, he brought the sport closer to mainstream than it ever was, bravo to him. Without him riders or the sport wouldn't be where it is. With Jeremy it is not about numbers, never was, that is how he achieved what he did. He was and is about appreciation and respect for everyone. That is why he never said coming off team Peak that he was going after Hannah's records, he understood. Greatness...
When they raced supercross together in 1988, they were a similar speed, both were good riders who achieved a lot in their careers, and both were called "the flying freckle"!
Stop....Are you seriously trying to compare Leisk's career with Wardy's?....seriously...Leisk was a badass, but wasn't even in the same league as Wardy...
It's hard to compete against a field full of champions when one guy wins for nearly a decade.
Bow to your King, peasant:
Sounded very intimate
This is true and well said. Noone has had the gravitas and class as a supercross champion that he has had (honorable mention to Bailey?). Giant among men.
