Again.   I'm not picking sides here.

Oh yeah, what bias? I’m a fan of all the guys out there, Jett included.

Dude had his helmet grabbed, he stuck up for himself and pushed the kid off of him. Yeah, he defended himself. He shouldn’t have to pay a dime to anyone for doing what he had to do to stop someone from (by definition, whether you like it or not) assaulting him.

So when Jett grabbed Andos helmet, Jason was forced to grab Jetts and shake the hell out of it? There was NO other way for Anderson to handle it?.

Oh, he should have flailed his arms around instead? I guess that’s one way to handle it. But in the heat of the moment, if someone grabs me by my fuckin’ helmet as I’m riding away, I may react a little more impulsively, and use my hands back to free myself. Defensively.

He didn’t go full-on Peick-on-Friese and throw him to the ground, throwing haymakers. He did basically the bare minimum to defend himself.

Way to free your self by grabbing the other guy.

If you have a problem with one guy doing one thing and then you are okay with another guy doing the same thing you are a hypocrit.

Same actions should be punnished the same way.
Jett was not right doing his crap but neither was Anderson.

Anderson did not show any more maturity then the 20 year old kid there.

If you’re looking at this with the opinion that both guys did the same thing, under the same circumstances, we’re just going to have to agree to disagree because the foundation for your argument is flawed from the jump.

But somehow, according to Magoofan, I’m the one with a bias.

Both grabbed the helmets right? And that is what they are fined for. Neither of them had to do it.

There is no circumstances when it comes to the rulebook against this. No ”but but but he hit me first so i hit him back”.

If you lay your hand on another rider you get a fine and both did just that case closed.

That’s a black and white way of looking at it. I think you are biased but make a good point. With that said, it seems that common sense need to be applied by the AMA as far as differing amounts for the aggressor. While two wrongs don’t make a right, are we really to believe that you lose your right to self defense if someone grabs you by the helmet?

all things considered, it could have escalated quickly into punches thrown

Because if you talk penaltys it has to be black and white.

it should always be the same penalty for every ”crime”. And by doing this, both riders will hopefully think about it a time or two before they do it again.

the problem is that they have so much money so a fine don’t make any difference for them. Take away some points and it starts to feel.

as i said earlier, if you grab the other guys helmet back and shake the Fuck out of it, it’s not self defence. If you brake your self free from the first helmet grab it’s self defence.

This was not a fight that you need to defend your self from by fighting back.

When handing out fines and reading the rule book emotions should be left outside.

When RV and J law had their fight at hangtown i think J law got a 25000$ fine and RV 5000$, i can remember it wrong but i know that J laws was way higher than RV’s that was more of a symbolic fee.

You make good points, let me ask you this. You referenced J-Law and Villopoto, do you think Jett and Anderson should be fined the same amount?

so I take it you have only watched one race that the AMA officiated?  Because your sentences above are less true with the AMA then any statement ever written on vital..and I remember someone saying Friese was the best rider ever…

Yes i do. I think that if you lay your hand om another rider it should be the same fine each time for every rider.

If it starts to come down to a joury or something to make up the punishment for each incident there is no idea to have a rulebook.

i follow F1 and Moto gp and there you have it that way.

example: if you force another driver of track you get a 5 second penalty. And it don’t matter how you did it, the punishment will always be the same. things like this has to be consistent.

we can brake down the Jett vs Anderson ”case” how much we want. Jett grabed Anderson first, but Anderson made it way harder back on Jett. What was worse etc.

but i think that both should get the same fine since they both commited the same crime here.

Mountain out of a molehill, minor scuffles happen in sport it's part and parcel, Jett arced up, Ando put him back in his place, it's not a bad look for the sport, the riders should be passionate just like the fans.

lol 20 year old “kid”! No wonder he acts like a spoiled brat when things don’t go away. He has a bunch of fans that will excuse all his actions cause he just a kid yet…at what age does he become an adult??

Just put yourselves in their boots. I'm in my 30's and a 20yo kid comes up and tries to punk me in front of millions of people...it ain't happening.

Now, let's say I'm a 20yo full of piss and vinegar. I would expect that if I go up to this older guy and give him shit, he's gonna give it back.

It goes back to the old saying: Don't start nothin, won't be nothin

retribution/retaliation in kind is a deterrent for a young individual that thinks the world revolves around him. sometimes, that's the only thing that gets through.

has Sweden not learned this lesson yet with their experimental ah justice policies and recent uptick in violence?

Someone mentioned in one of the other dozen threads that they saw Jett mention $1k somewhere on social media. No idea if that's for both of them, or if it's even the real figure, though.

Jett lost me there.

i didn’t mind the scruffle.

that instagram story is narcissistic. That should have been a private conversation between 18 & 21.  Not a worldwide post that says he’ll pay both fines. That’s a childish, hypocrite move.  Yet I see no one complaining

If Jett would have just rode back to the pits after the race, nothing would have happened between him and Anderson. Also RC it was not mentioned will be fined for slapping the shit out of the English language. I wish they made a edition of Rosetta stone to translate his language.
