Has a celebrity reality show ever ended well for anyone. It seems as if it's better to keep people guessing and making thier own opinions than to put all your laundry out for everyone to see. Like the saying: It is better to be thought of as idiot, than to open mouth and prove it. I can not think of one that did not just ruin how a person is viewed. Unless you were no one in the first place, as in The Jersey Shore kooks. I hope James comes off in a good way and not edited way out of context for ratings. I am looking forward to it. When is it going to be aired?
You mean like the press release. I hate how they make it sound like a Wacko Jacko case of a long lost childhood that he never had. And now he has to make up for it?
About the rest of your post...
How did Donald Trump come out on the other end? I could care less, but I do know you hear his name alot more now.
And Vanilla Ice was actually cool on the surreal life.
Maybe the Girls Next Door did well from their show.
But yeah, it seems it's more common to develop a bad reputation as a result of the "reality" shows.
Recently, SHAQ had this Shaq Vs. reality dealio - where he competed against various
star athletes in their chosen professions. I was not a big fan of Shaq, hell I'm a
Michael Jordan guy, but Shaq has a great sense of humor and came across as
a very cool, likable guy that happens to be 7 foot plus and, apparently, a whole lot
more athletic than i ever gave him credit for... Anyway, I know what you mean and
am hoping for the best in James' show, fingers crossed.....
The Shop
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
and i thinK JSE shold be showing it and promoting the sport that made it exist, insted of this rich livestyle bull where they are just another one doing it.........
i know i have to be a hater for saying it..... but most of all i'm a mx fan and what i really like to see is racers going at it ......james is one of the best ...!!!!! so thats why i complain....i like him lot better when he is on a dirt bike and not making "movies".....!!!!!!!!!!....and if that makes me a hater..........i will live with it............
Good luck to him anyway.
All the poor kids I know race dirt bikes.
Pit Row
Seriously, what is the attraction of seeing this guy away from the track? And this is from someone who loves the sport. Anyone else watching it must really be wondering why this guy is on TV.
I can understand a 30 minute slot on MTV or something, but a series??? No wonder they're making stuff up before they even start... I predict a mildly interesting first episode (shots of racing, the Lambo, lots of big smiles), followed by a load of crap and extremely poor ratings.
I just don't think that smiling a lot and talking about how much fun you're having is gonna be enough to make the show a success.
The Moto
and thats why he will never get to the level of being one of the greatest of the sport.....even being probably the fastest racer ever........
he got to a point where he lacks the inner quality to deserve the respect of the sport, and that cuz he was the first to drop that respect and put himself over it.........
i was a big fan of the james stewart "racer", but when he started to think and act like he was the superstar......like many other fans i bailed out,
i love the sport, so i dont like how he acts about it now........
and i cant wait to see the huge kicking his "superstar tv" ass is going to get when everybody figures that he is planets away from travis in tv audience........
I don't get the press release. I expected something more about the lifestyle of an athlete, not the fame and money side of things. And "wild parties" and "family drama"? Ugh. I never knew James to be about those kind of things.
Given that a lot of these shows are "scripted" anyway- let's hope they don't try and turn him into some kind of cartoon character. But I will wait to pass judgment, and I'm happy to see him branching into something different.
Any advertising is good advertising...thanks kid!
Even if this is the worst thing ever, it expands his media footprint, listen to RC on dmxs for how important it is to get yourself out there.
bad publicity does hurt in the long term.......specially if when it happens you are not performing at the expected level........
I think that example made my point.
In my opinion this will not hurt james, and it has nothing to do with performance.
To bad James isnt on that.
