Parts Canada Rant

Parts Canada has always been a joke in my opinion, particularly given the above comment if that turns out to be true (not supporting any team in Canada for 2024). Look back in the history of Canadian moto. They chase the coat tails of something, then dump it, then are back in a few years later. Zero stability. Some will argue the sports lacks stability yet there are market players in it year after year.

It's bad decision after bad decision in the Canadian Moto space for Parts Canada. They pull all their funding from two stable platforms in 2023 KTM ($100,000 CAD) and Kawasaki ($100,000 CAD) and dump (approx $200,000 CAD) into a team in their second year of business (Thor/GasGas). Look where that got them.

We provide them with immense support at the dealer level and it's hard to get a Parts Canada account, yet at the sponsorship/corporate level, it's a string of broken promises and bad decisions.

Parts Can absolutely fucked at least 2 of my friends who were business owners over. It’s why most guys around here use thibeault, gamma, etc

What kind of money does the Canadian nationals pay out to riders? Or what kind of money can those guys make up there?

Yeah, I didn't put it in my post - but I've heard multiple stories that share the same sentiment as yours.

Nobody is speaking up about it - and carrying on as situation no change.

Personally, I won't support them - and will take my money elsewhere.

Awesome, are they skipping indoors this year? Looking forward to seeing everyone up there!

From MXP Magazine

As far as teams go, almost all of them have their rider line-ups firmed up, with the exception being the MX101 Yamaha Team. I spoke to Kevin Tyler this morning and he said that he’s still looking for a 450 rider. He almost had Zach Osborne all locked up, but in the end they weren’t able to come to an agreement. Kevin wants a 450 rider who can challenge for race wins and the championship this summer.

US and Canadian Schedule Comparison

May 25th: Fox Raceway

June 1st: Hangtown
June 2nd: Calgary

June 8th: Thunder Valley
June 9th: Lethbridge

June 15th: High Point
June 16th: Pilot Mound

June 29th: Southwick

July 6th: RedBud
July 7th: Gopher Dunes

July 13th: Spring Creek
July 14th: Sand Del Lee

July 20th: Washougal
July 21st: Riverglade

July 28th: Deschambault

August 10th: Unadilla
August 11th: Walton

August 17th: Budds Creek

August 24th: Ironman

Our guys could hit four US Nationals if they manage to get a bike sorted out for Fox Raceway or make the long drive, but it's much more realistic that they could hit three rounds.

-Southwick
-Budds Creek
-Ironman

I'm hoping to see some of our guys take advantage of the break in our schedule to hit Southwick and then the final two rounds of the US Nationals once our series concludes.

Thx . I just checked my schedule. Gopher Dunes is the only 1 I can do.  Deep sand - perfect.  Is a 04 cr125 running on c12 leaded race fuel legal ?  Isn’t there a 2-st class also or is it a 125 class ?  30 or 40 on the gate I forget ?  I just took a nap, trying to get inside to shower its way below zero in Iowa.

I watched a few Canadian Nationals a few weeks ago. There tracks r awesome & Look like Great events.  Damon Huffman is probably the biggest name but ovr time there’s been a ton of Americans racing up there. Factory Phil, I helped a Yamaha team in Walcott,Iowa get there inventory done. Josh Demooth and Chad Johnson team. Funny I,m parked there now but not at the TA worlds largest ts, the pilot.

There's a 125 class. I don't think the gates are ever full for the 125 class.

I was hoping Pettis was going to sign there. He did really well there when he road 250's. I really like Kevin's approach. Under the tent is very laid back but at the same time super serious about racing and gives a shit about his crew.

I'm a Zach Osborne fan, but I don't think he would be able to beat Wright. I don't think Wright gets the respect he deserves with what he's doing up in Canada. I think it would take a legit top 10 450 AMA guy to be able to come up here and beat Wright straight up. If Zach signed with MX101 I don't think we'd be seeing Zach of 2020 that won the 450 Motocross title. He's older, had some bad injuries and retired.

Why not sign a rider that can at least get top 5's and develop into a top 450 guy, maybe someone like Julien Benek. That's a better option than having to spend a huge chunk of money to hire a US 450 guy only to get beat by Wright.

100% right - there are not many guys who can ride as fast DW (anywhere) and those who can me thinks wouldn't be cheap. JB would have been a good choice or Quinn A who's a big kid and can ride a 450 well.

Which riders in the US are even available to begin with?

Most guys are already signed to a factory team or a privateer team. Let's face it, no privateer rider is coming up here and winning the title.

I know two guys that could possibly get the job done, but they're overseas. And as far as I know, neither of them have a ride.

He would never do it - but I think Dungey - for both availability and speed, would be a wicked option.

Again, he wouldn't do it - but I feel like that's a guy who could beat DW.

He was a top 5 guy at the Nationals in 2022.

Maybe Ty Masterpool? He's privateer, maybe if MX101 signed him so he's on good equipment. But even then I don't think he's straight up beating Wright for a whole season to win the title, not in his first year.

Wright's just so dominate, I don't see it happening. He still hasn't lost an overall in two years, never mind a championship.

Obviously, KTM are already full with Natzke and Pettis, but I think you would have a better shot at getting Musquin to come up here and race the series than Dungey.

Pourcel did it...

Quebec based team. He's French. Perfect match. Laughing

Masterpool rides for the HBI Kawasaki team. They're racing SX and MX.

He's still young too. IMO, he needs to stay in the US and keep doing what he's doing in order to get a shot at a bigger team.

That said, I think he could make things interesting.

Who are you thinking Mav? Kullas, Paturel, Bogers,…? I think Rubini is going to Honda Brasil but he is a good guy. I’m sure there are more guys in Europe without rides.

I think Bogers and Evans could maybe get it done. I'm unsure what Evans is doing, but I don't think he has a ride. I'm unsure who else is available, but I think those two are probably the best options.

Paturel could possibly get it done as well.

Kullas mentioned he's racing the US nationals or some of them.

IMO, Rubini wouldn't be a championship contender. Is he not racing the US Nationals for the Wildcat Racing Team? He was supposed to race 250 SX for them.

Oh yes I forgot Evans, I thought he would race for a German team but haven’t seen anything lately.

i think most of those guys could challenge for overall wins IF they are riding like they should be but it’s hard to say for a championship as Wright been feeling so good in Canada.

Maybe if one guy could put some more pressure on him he would start to make more mistakes and make the championship more interesting.

Rubini was staying at my friend’s house when in the US and he didn’t have any parts, testing and didn’t feel very good on the Kawi. If he had his Honda I’m sure he would of been in the top10.

i read the wildcat deal too on here but seems like it was false, I don’t even think they talked.

He’s been riding a Honda 450 lately.

regardless I think MX101 should get someone from Europe, plenty of good riders that don’t ask for big amount of money.

regardless I think MX101 should get someone from Europe, plenty of good riders that don’t ask for big amount of money.

I thought Evans was going to race the German ADAC series, but I haven't seen anything in regards to where he'll ride.

I also think MX101 should sign someone from Europe.

I think some could challenge for the title but not all. Pourcel came over and didn't get it done against Goerke. IMO, Wright is a step above that.

Last round of US outdoors last year he only needed a few more laps and he would have gotten by Cianciarulo. He said he was comfortable going that pace. Wright is solid.

Hoping to see him race Southwick and the last two US nationals.

i think most of those guys could challenge for overall wins IF they are riding like they should be but it’s hard to say for a championship as Wright been feeling so good in Canada.

In all fairness the Pourcel we got was a very different Pourcel than the year before. Millsaps came up and did get it done and he wasn’t near a Pourcel level outdoors.
