So what do you guys think of the ktm 350 ? Cairoli looked real good on it and didnt seem under powered at all , actually he was dominant. AC says it rides like a 250F but with more power and much better handling, the bike is making a big buzz right now in europe.

It still has a lot to prove though. Maybe if it wins a AMA National Championship and a World Championship, the Japs might scramble to put something together for the following years.

It sounded like a 350. (like I have ever heard one) Sounded like he was usually reving harder than the other guys. More 250f-ish.

Thats the rumor ive heard.? Not saying its true but it makes sense. I do live in Missouri tho. I was not close enough to hear what it sounded like..lol

I would think a 350 would get smoked on starts, even with Alessi on it.

I wonder if it will catch on or not. KTM did something similar in 2003/2004 (when most everyone was still on 2-strokes) with the 200SX. It wasnt really a huge hit, though. I actually rode one...fun bike. If the 350SXF isnt a success with motocross, maybe they could use it for a woods bike. Their 200cc 2-strokes are successful there.

Alessi rode on the Saturday but didn't do very well, and didn't race Sunday - said his shoulder was sore.

He wasnt riding a 450 last year on the Yamaha either. I do beleive it was a 390, and he did prety well I would say.

Not entirely, if you remember that start was a hard 180 at the end of a short straight. RV started at the far inside gate both his motos, using a little brains to brake early and turn tight around the inside. He certainly wasn't first to the turn but positioning is everything.

Ktm will make damn near anything, and have it ready by next Tuesday.

50, 65, 85, 105, 125, 150, 200, 250, 300, 380 have all been available as 2-strokes in the last 10 years, and some CC sizes have more than one engine design.

yea they will make anything overnight, the problem is, they use their customers to do the testing, then make changes over a 2-3 year period as the problems surface.
