Something strange I noticed all weekend, was that Mumford was constantly being aggressive only to Shimoda. Individually, the incidents don't seem like a big deal, but it happened at least 4 times. What makes it more weird, is that it started on Press Day right from the green flag. No reason to be that agressive on lap 1 of Press. Anyone know if there's any history to this? Take a look below:
Imo, this is a bit out there, but maybe he's just salty Jo, kept getting all the factory rides ever since their Geico days. Even tho Mumford was supposed to be their big prospect with a big amateur contract.
Think I remember them getting into it at Perris a year or two ago.
They were both Geico Honda supported amateur riders together, so they’ve been competing for the same seats for years.
Yeah even now. Jo got the PC seat when Mitch held tryouts. He kept the seat, even when mumford got the fill in, so much so that Mumford got benched. And now, Jo's on factory Honda while Mumford is on MCR Honda.

He spent the whole off season with Friese. Makes sense he would ride like a douche.

Lmao that's a good one. You got Alessi as manager, and Vince as your mentor -- what can you expect.
Big fan of Mumford but have come to accept he is about as good as he is going to get.
Maybe Mumford thought he could rattle Jo if messed with him a bit. Maybe it worked. I heard lots of Shimoda A-1 victory predictions prior to the gate dropping last night. When the checkered flag flew, Jo rode right by the podium on his way back to the pits.
mumford says he feels good to be back at home on a honda.. i would think he has aspirations to be back on a factory honda.. seems like this wouldn't help his cause? who knows tho, just speculating
Just wait til Mumfy gets Comfy
As much as im a fan of Jo, dude needs to start giving it back. I think the rest of the field is realizing its easy to push him around.
Mumford is a great rider, but he won’t be a top tier race winner.
This didn't help that cause...
That kid has always been a little shit. Even heard stories of him throwing rocks at the tld manager thinking it was funny when he was on Geico still. When ya that young and have everything handed to you this is how ya act. But his dad will keep writing the checks for him so he will be around a bit longer.
I noticed his crap towards Joe too. I was becoming a fan of him after last year but that’s a quick way for me to stop being one.
I just appreciate whoever's brain was able to notice this and put it together in a YouTube video for me to digest. Now I'm stuck wondering if there really is some "beef" between the two and will actively look out for it!
4 times... Once, alright. but 4 times is bullshit
Pit Row
Jo’s gonna have to sack up and give it back with interest or he will be a doormat for everyone.
Im a firm believer that if you want to win, you have to have a little bit of moxie in your make up.
Yeah but it can also backfire. El hombre knows more than he'd like to about that. It's a short season, no time to mess around
I think the situations are a little different. Usually Anderson deserves it as he dishes it out first most of the time. Jo usually makes clean passes so if anyone is messing with him its not because hes owed something. Its because they know they wont get it back. If Jo just punts one guy back everyone will know going forward. Just my opinion
That video was a whole lot of nothing much to see IMO.
Really hope the Moto Concepts questionable decision making isn’t rubbing off on Mumford. That is not the path he should go down if he ever wants a factory ride again.
I agree.
My favorite part is how it's labeled "take outs" and it's all just riding close, rubbing and passing.
The close riding and or ¨Beef¨ in Heats and Mains i get it, all ok. But the agression on Press day is absolutely stupid.
