Not gunna happen. Jett is not immune to mistakes as we saw in the heat, and if he does that in the main against this field those guys will capitalise. This isn't like outdoors where he has time and track space on his side.
Yup, really really bummed for Phil. He qualified well and his had a sweet gate pic for the main. It looked like it was gonna be a sweet evening for him.
Also feel bad for his mechanic. Shit damn luck.
Sending positive vibes to Phil for next week.
Well he is the only rider who can now do it, so there is that haha.
I really don't think a perfect season in SX is possible, well not with Vince heading into the first turn each weekend anyway.
At some point you are bound to be VFed
I remember these type of comments early in the Outdoors last year….

I doubt that he will do a perfect season. Not because he lack’s the ability, but one bad start and a Barcia or Anderson on the inside in a bowl turn and the night can be over.
as far as other riders speed goes, they don’t have a chance. People saying that Webb had his number in the heat, Jett closed down 3 seconds in like a lap on him.
And we all saw when Jett got hung up by lappers (Leigh and JS thought Ando and Webb were closing) he just put a 1.5 second gap back on then in half a lap, and when Webb ate shit (are you okay Magoofan?) Jett just klicked off a gear and gapped Ando with almost 7 more seconds.
Let that sink in what the gap could have been if he wanted to do a JS kind of win.
Yup, he has two chances at perfect season this year. He is off to a good start and is the only one that has a chance now for a perfect SX season. It's a fucking loooooong shot that he does it.
The Holy Grail of a perfect season? Going perfect in both SX and Outdoors.
Jett was playing with them tonight
Perfect season is a veeery long shot. But i could easily see him winning 10+ races if he stays healthy.
I hope he does, just so I can say i saw it happen.
No
100%. You have the time to overcome a mistake outdoors. He gets caught up on the start one race and he's done. Can he come from 15th to win in this field? And it would be stupid to push for the win in a situation like that. The title is the goal, not a perfect season. That said, if anyone could get the perfect season it would be him
Way too early to talk about a perfect season. Anything can happen.Look what happened to Hunter.
Depends on the track. Yesterday? Probably not. But an east coast track that is really beat down after 10 laps and he is able to go 1-3 seconds faster than everyone around him? I could see it.
Also going down lap one In a main is more likely and also harder to salvage than in outdoors
Yes it’s too early and ridiculous. There are 17 rounds and a deep field. Not going to happen. Just like matthes said on pulp about the mistakes indoors. You saw it in the heat race. Luckily it happened there and not the main. I disagree with matthes and others for not picking jet for the championship. I think he will absolutely win but to sweep it is ridiculous.
Exactly, the great thing about Jett is that he backs it down to a small gap to minimize mistakes. If someone is in front of him then you see the sprint speed to try to make the pass. After that, he just manages. That's very scary to see a 20 year old with the mindset to be careful.
Besides RD 5, most riders tried to pull as big of a gap as they can, and that's where I feel Sexton possibly had some issues last year. If he backed it down a little, he may not have had as many tip overs
Ain’t happening. He’ll win races and maybe even the championship. But a perfect season? No way.
Booking my tix for Detroit 2028 to see it happen!
