The early days.

Some of the MT regulars may have seen some of these pics before but I thought they really belong inhere.
These are some pics of my old man racing in the early 60's. He was old school, and one of the first guys to race in the Netherlands. He raced from 1959 to 1976. I was 6 years old when he stopped racing and went on with trail riding. He learned me how to ride bikes, took me with him to many, many GP's and Dutch nationals. I have so many good memories of those days. My dad died 6 years ago, I still have some of his riding stuff. Unfortunately I don't have one of his racing bikes. He sold them when he quit racing. He raced on CZ, Triumph, BSA Goldstar.
Anyway, here are some pics. My dad is # 37.

Awesome Jeff, your dad would have kicked ass in the Winter Am series in Florida.

Did your dad ride the GP's?

They took a whole different style. He'd have to remember to "never" land on the front wheel.

If it can be raced RC can win on it. So would JS and all the others. Bell and Stanton would have been world champs on those bikes.

Those Gold stars were such a versatile machine, RR,MX,TT, F/T, enduro, they won in every form of racing nearly. Great pics, and even greater memories I'm sure.
