Congratulations on getting the holeshot talking shit on the guys holding a mic! I've never had an issue with anyone on the broadcast, and felt bad for everyone who got canned over the years. I'm pretty proud of Langston for standing his ground against that which shalt not be named.

Im sitting here with ticketmaster open with a couple seats picked out for me and my lady friend $650 (fees and insurance) and trying to decide if it's worth the 4.5 hour ride down there and back plus motel for a night. Not sure if its worth the $1k admission. We already going to round 2 in San Francisco.

Really thinking of just sitting here in my RV watching it and saving my money!

Tough decision as I'd like to go. We flew in from Phenix 2 years ago to attend round one so i understand the excitement of round one..

It's literally going to come down to a coin toss for me. Heads go, tails stay home!! TBD!

A1 is the round worth that if you are willing to drop that coin.  The buzz is phenomenal, and should be high this year with Eli coming back to confront Jett, and Sexton moving over, and a bunch of guys who believe in themselves, and fewer by the nights end.  And there is no substitute for being in the stadium, especially when a dark horse pulls a win in the opener (as happens a fair bit at A1).

All of that dissipates a lot by round 2.  There is no beating or reclaiming the expectations going unto A1.   I'm in NorCal, too, and I'd go to A1 before SF or Oakland (and would hit that round too if I were still to be getting to races).

Hey fte, its more than just the money (money itself isnt an issue really). We flew from arizona 2 years ago to watch A1 so i understand the buzz around it plus i been dedicated to at least the last 20 years of watching sx/mx (when sons started racing and granson now). So i feel ya on hype thing.

Its a work thing as well. I only have a couple nights off so ill be driving sleepy a lot. I work nights so its really only one day off. Drive down sleepy, then driving back sleepy.

But another thing is and probably the biggest factor is the ball game. Bama plays in the rose bowl on the first and this race 6 days later. I gotta pick one and i been doing college footbal waayy longer than motorcycles. Lol leaning morevtoward the race now though. I wont be nearly as distraught if eli dont win as i will be if bama loses and my lady friend went to Auburn so ill get no compassion for my wounds there on a 5 hour drive back!! We'll see. And the race is a lot easier on the wallet!!

Decided not to give you a thumbs up for fear of upsetting the balance of the motoverse.

I'm probably going to sit down on the couch, where my wife has been watching the "Real Psycho Bitch Housewives of [insert rich city here]" for hours, and get ready for a night of Supercross!
We'll have chili and appetizers all dialed up and I'll crack my first beer. Now, I'm not a heavy drinker (nor do I drink quickly,) but I'll probably be done with that beer by the time I realize that none of the dozens of pay-for-access streaming services we pay an exorbitant amount to every month carries the race. Even though they are supposed to. Oh, wait, it's not on CBS Sports, it's on CBS Prime Extra! No? It's not on that, either? Oh, right, it's on Peacock. Wait, no: Peacock PLUS. But only if you pay the extra $5 for Peacock PLUS + KICKYOUINTHENUTSBECAUSEWECAN additional package. Subject to blackout in certain areas. Like my area, Murrieta/Temecula/Riverside, the one with more motocross racers per square mile than anywhere else in the world. Unless you pay a little extra, which I probably did, or have to now.
I'll be halfway through my second beer by the time we get all this sorted out and will have spent an additional $50 or so on my credit card. The opening ceremonies and 250 heat race #1 will be done, but I'll catch the last few laps of the 2nd heat. I'll get to watch the heats and the LCQs. Also, I'll get to watch The Science of Supercross and some infomercial stuff between about an hour and a half of commercials.
I'll be 3 sheets to the wind by the time the main events go off. The 250 race will be a little blurry. I won't be able to tell if it's my vision or if the feed is starting to fail, like it always does. The 450 race will definitely get blurrier. It will freeze once or twice, but then it will be fine. Then, with about 5 laps to go, it will freeze up entirely. I'll miss all the action while I restart my TV and search through the channels to find the SX feed again. Finally, it will all materialize just in time for me to see the talking heads talk about how it was, yet again, the most incredible night of racing we've ever seen, especially that last 5 laps of the 450 race!

Yaaay Supercross! Cool
We'll see how it goes this year.

This made me chuckle. It’s as if George Castanza wrote it. And that’s not a dig, Seinfeld is one of my favorite shows

Going to watch A1 just like I watch all the live supercross rounds and that’s with my Dad. One of things I cherish most as a 35 year old adult.

Falcon hahahahaha..... sounds about right.  I have both kids, their spouses and 3 grandkids and some friends coming over to bbq for a "Supercross party". The race fans will be outnumbered 3 to 1. It'll be all about the races for the first 4 heat races, then when the inevitable and excruciatingly long breaks in the action start the focus will drift away until one of the girls (probably my wife) will start asking if it's over yet and how long until the next race and this is stupid can't we pause it and watch the fake housewifes of cuntsville for awhile, then you guys can fast forward through all the fluff. Me and the guys will put it on pause to go outside and bbq. We'll get wrapped up in cooking and bullshitting while the girls turn on some bs chick flick. After we've eaten we'll take back control of the tv much to the dismay of the girls. We'll fast forward for awhile and watch the lcq's, then fast forward back to live to find out the mains are still 45 minutes out. The race fans will go out back outside to shoot the shit and drink a couple more beers. After that we'll come back in to watch the mains to find out the races are over and there's no way to go back because the broadcast is over and the "replay" won't be available until the next day. Then everyone will keep partying. After they leave I'll be too curious to stay off the internet and by the time I go to sleep I'll know who won, who lost, and what drama unfolded. Sunday I'll watch 90% of it on fast forward or look for the recap and highlights on you tube.   Laughing

Time difference so we catch the replay of west rounds on Sunday morning. As good as live if you haven’t seen the results.

With all the changes to the “tv” pass providers over the years this year’s auto-renewal was easy breezy. Can. Not. Wait.

Gonna drag the mini fridge into the living room, prop my feet up, and if all goes well I’ll only leave my seat for a piss break

I'm in morocco and will be deep in the desert. I've planned my spot for Saturday night to be somewhere that hopefully will have good signal so when I wake up on Sunday morning I'll drain a massive amount of my data allowance on all the races. I might even try to find a village shop with some Chocolate or sweets as an A1 treat. Then if it leaves me hyped to ride I'll probably strap a jerry can to the bike and get out into the dunes!

Same. Keeping it pizza and chill at home, then planning on hitting Cahuilla Sunday morning.

My nephew is racing 450's this year, but it will be tough making the main at A1. Hoping for the best though...

Anyone in the Chicago area? Feels like there must be people that watch and we could get together to watch somewhere with a beer or two?

Yep! When I'm not at a race, I like to go to a local sports bar and get them to put it on at least one TV. It's been fun having others get into it and start asking questions.
