Vince was in the 450 class for years and only recently move to 250s. Per Mav’s post it seems he is back to 450SX.
In 450WSX and 250SX Vince was in title contention, so he was willing IMO to use sketchier tactics. In 450SX I think he will know his place and not f up the race of a contender. And the 450SX guys are more experienced with his game and more adept to handle it.
Knowing how and when to make passes around guys like Vince, Barcia, etc will be a crucial skill in 2024. Speed is useless if you can’t strategize a pass around these guys. Also, Prado will be up front off the start. These guys get good starts and will bunch up the field. Early laps will be CRAZY.
You know me. I certainly don’t hate Vince. Hell, I don’t even dislike Vince; but, I’d certainly “police his ass on the track” a helluva lot better than the AMA has!
The truth is, Vince, on far too many well-documented occasions, has been an absolute ass on the track. More to the point, he’s been at the center of far too many crashes and other un-safe and unnecessary “events” on the track.
The reality is…if someone parked his ass HARD…or if someone took him out BAD…and both of those scenarios could very easily have him on the ground SERIOUSLY INJURED…well, the truth is…many of us know something like that is likely and probably wouldn’t be unjustified.
But, you know what? Nothing about all this is cool or acceptable.
Furthermore, he’s DETRIMENTAL to the racing and the safety of the racers. Dare I point out the videos, pictures and we’ll known stories that exemplify his central role in waaaaaaay too many “on track incidents”, crashes and take-outs. Uh, yes…I dare.
There are those that would say that Vince contributes to the “drama” or the “action”. Huh? O.K., but…at what cost? Safety? The health of other riders?
To me, this is EXTREMELY SIMPLE:
“Due to his repeated questionable conduct, previous warnings and most notably due to recent on-track incidents in an international racing jurisdiction that’s directly comparable to and involved AMA SX/SMX competitors, Mr. Friese is on his FINAL Probation and ANY FURTHER incidents, either on track, in the paddock or during the race day event (at the venue in total) that are deemed to have been caused or instigated by Mr. Friese will lead to his immediate suspension from any and all racing activity. The length/duration of said suspension will be at the sole discretion of the AMA and may ultimately be an expulsion from all AMA racing. The intent of this Final Warning is to get Mr. Friese to QUIT ACTING LIKE AN ASS HOLE ON THE TRACK!”

A post-script thought: I know that I’ll probably get or hear some shit for this. Wether it’s here or at the races when the season starts. No worries. If you know me, you know that I absolutely love this sport, the racing, the racers, the promoters…everyone involved. And, yes, I like Vince. I like Tony. I’m glad, he’ll I’m stoked, that MCR is out there and supporting our sport by having a team in SX, WSX & SMX. But, this shit has got to stop BEFORE retaliation occurs.

You guys have been saying the same thing for years “I give it 3 rounds before someone takes him out of the series” or similar. Yet, year after year, these top guys still cry because he blocks them in a turn and makes them tip over. Nothing is going to change. Is Vince owed a few? Yep. Is anyone going to pay him back? Nope. Are you vitards going to cry weekend after weekend? Yep.
The facts are, Vince is a good rider, and an even better starter. Don’t wanna be near him? Start better than him. He bumped you? Bump him back. For everyone on this forum, just sit back and grab yourself some popcorn, and enjoy some fun racing.

As previously mentioned, Vince will make the LCQs interesting but that's it. This is not the 250 class he was in a few years ago or WSX, He's not even remotely close to Anderson, Malcom or even an older Barcia. He might pull a good start in a main if he makes it but the pace will be just too fast. It would be funny to see Barcia to get T boned by Vince if it ever came down to it. heh
Vince has more than enough speed to make the top 9 in a heat with the way he starts. I don’t like Vince, but y’all are wild if you think he will live in the LCQs with as good as he starts.

Or maybe it's not that simple when Vince is in full spode mode, cross jumping in front of everyone in the same post code or making erratic changes of direction in a whoop section to cut people off, because his whoop speed is shall we say....sub optimal.
If your favorite rider can't pass and stay in front of Vince friese, maybe your favorite rider ain't all that fast...
Excellent. The only thing I'd add is that a suspension length needs to be stipulated before the event. Otherwise, he'll think he get away it as he always has in the past.

All this 'frontier justice' is horseshit. In a professional sport with properly policed rules, athletes shouldn't have to be enforcing anything. That's what referees/officials/sanctioning bodies are for.
The fact is it's risky for riders to take out other riders - especially if you're not used to doing it. Most of the time you'll end up taking yourself out as well, or worse, injuring yourself.
The job of policing Freise should be the responsibility of the AMA. However, this organisation seems to be unbelievably inept.
I can't believe MCR says "@vincefriese will captain the team in the 450 class". That's a very sad state of affairs when you're pretty much admitting that you can't get anyone or can't afford anyone better to "captain" your team...especially with Genova money!
I can't believe how many of you Vtards are putting down Vince for doing the same exact shit that people like Barcia and Anderson, not to mention guys from the past like Matiasevich, Bradshaw, Hannah, Howerton, etc. have done multiple times. I watched Deegan HUNT DOWN another rider last year and try everything he could to take him out. But I guess that's ok, 'cause his name isn't VF. SMH. He's a f*cking privateer that wants to make as much money, and do as well as he can. I don't blame him for doing what's required to do the best he can do. And you have people like the GOAT sitting in the announcer booth putting him down when he does what every other damn pro racer has done at some point in their career.

Simple. VF consistently races behind himself, every other rider you mentioned consistently races forward.
VF makes the racing crappy with his blocking, he causes backups and then when the riders get past him he torpedoes them. Makes for boring races and the worst part is it generally doesn’t even work for him, he just craps all over the track but still doesn’t win. I’ve been around since the Hannah days, the guys you’ve mentioned were able to win by racing forward.
He’s a good rider with a faulty brain holding him back.
