Can someone give me the Cliff notes on these 188 pages, what are the tried and true mods and fixes for these ‘19 - ‘23 bikes?
Will 14 -51 help with the chain slapping noise?
Go up one tooth in the rear to bring 3rd gear in play in the corners and wear earplugs. Fork oil needs to be 370ml. Grease the steering head (and suspension if you have time) bearings prior to riding the bike so you don’t have to clean things before smearing on more grease. Honestly, that’s about it. Set the sag and have fun!
Congrats! And welcome to the club. First things first grease those bearings with some water proof grease. And like quadz said you probably want to add some oil to the outer chamber of the forks. Stock they only come with 310cc which is nothing. Depending on your weight you may have to go up in spring rates on the fork as they are very soft stock 5.0. Can't think of much else other than that.
Optimate Lithium charger.

Who makes a good chain roller? Already starting to shred through my stock one.
I make my own out of turpentine
And grow my own weed
On my 19, I changed mine with a 16. 19 had a single bearing, and 16 had two bearings. Not sure on the newer models. Works well.
Moose Racing: 1231-0220
I use em’ on both the top and bottom, keeping an extra in the toolbox for other Kawi riders who find themselves in a pickle at the track. The unsealed top is a major source of noise/rattle…
The Moose MR-1 chain guide is also a good buy since the rubber block is replaceable; Doesn’t bend/twist in ruts either like the stock one is prone to do.
Replace the roller, the slider, and the guide with a TM Designworks set. They last forever.
100% agree on the guide
Ok. the TM chain roller looks like a much better design. I ran their chain guides on my Hondas. Great stuff. The only reason I even posted was because I didn't think they sold the chain roller separately but apparently they do. $35 for the roller, $235 for the guide, slider and roller kit. I think I'll put a few more hours on the stock stuff and get the kit.
You think they last forever? How many hours do you guys get wit the tm design works kit?
Lol
That's a myth. My TM designs guide lasted about 7 more hours than the Acerbis.
I have about 90 hours on mine. Still going strong. Never tried another brand because I’ve never had to replace a TM Designs kit. They aren’t cheap, but they seem to last forever.
She just seized boys
OH FUCK! That's never fun. Time for a new 24.And a bong hit.
Pit Row
That was the plan. Might be waiting for a 25.
Maybe part that badboy out?
You've gotta be kidding me. Let us know what you find when you tear into it
How many hours?
78 hours, I put a OEM piston in at 50. I'll find out here soon what went wrong.
Geez. I put 90 on mine before changing the piston and the old one looked fine when I pulled it out. Eager to hear what happened.
Any idea what happened here? Obviously a valve broke. The valves have never been adjusted.
Holy crap. Yeah a valve definitely broke. Any damage to the head? Hopefully cylinder is okay. Installing new valves and another piston is no big deal.
Head is trash, I haven't looked at the cylinder. I would want to put a crank in it. With the resale value of Kawi's, I don't know if it's worth rebuilding.
Probably worth parting out what’s left and buying a 10 hour used one for under 5k plenty of hardly used ones near me for around that.
That's what i was thinking.
