LMAO, poor sucker, I'm mean customer that got jacked around by Stark for months on his bike and only after threat to cancel took delivery. One ride and the thing is fried.
Still we have our shills telling us how impressed they are they by it and how great it is, taking on every nay' Sayer.
This is better than anything one could make up.
For the love of God can we please get an Ignore User option on this forum already?
Pretty lame that it fried in one ride for sure, that would NEVER happen on an ICE bike right?
Somebody should tell that to all the dudes who had cranks go out on Austrian 125s last year with less than 5 hours on their bikes.....

You can change a crank on your workbench, not much can be done on E-bike if battery or phone or other electrical issues happen.

A Letter to the President
Dear Mr. President,
We are auto dealers from across the country who collectively sell every major brand in the U.S. We are small businesses employing thousands of Americans. We are deeply committed to the customers we serve and the communities where we operate, which is why we are asking you to slow down your proposed regulations mandating battery electric vehicle (BEV) production and distribution.
Your Administration has proposed regulations that would essentially mandate a dramatic shift to battery electric vehicles (BEVs), increasing year after year until 2032, when two out of every three vehicles sold in America would have to be battery electric.
Currently, there are many excellent battery electric vehicles available for consumers to purchase. These vehicles are ideal for many people, and we believe their appeal will grow over time. The reality, however, is that electric vehicle demand today is not keeping up with the large influx of BEVs arriving at our dealerships prompted by the current regulations. BEVs are stacking up on our lots.
Last year, there was a lot of hope and hype about EVs. Early adopters formed an initial line and were ready to buy these vehicles as soon as we had them to sell. But that enthusiasm has stalled. Today, the supply of unsold BEVs is surging, as they are not selling nearly as fast as they are arriving at our dealerships -- even with deep price cuts, manufacturer incentives, and generous government incentives.
While the goals of the regulations are admirable, they require consumer acceptance to become a reality. With each passing day, it becomes more apparent that this attempted electric vehicle mandate is unrealistic based on current and forecasted customer demand. Already, electric vehicles are stacking up on our lots which is our best indicator of customer demand in the marketplace.
Mr. President, no government agency, no think tank, and no polling firm knows more about the automobile customer than us. We talk to customers every day. As retail automotive dealerships, we are agnostic as to what we sell. Our business is to provide customers with vehicles that meet the needs of their budgets and lifestyles.
Some customers are in the market for electric vehicles, and we are thrilled to sell them. But the majority of customers are simply not ready to make the change. They are concerned about BEVs being unaffordable. Many do not have garages for home charging or easy access to public charging stations. Customers are also concerned about the loss of driving range in cold or hot weather. Some have long daily commutes and don’t have the extra time to charge the battery. Truck buyers are especially put off by the dramatic loss of range when towing. Today’s current technology is not adequate to support the needs of the majority of our consumers.
Many of these challenges can and will be addressed by our manufacturers, but many of these challenges are outside of their control. Reliable charging networks, electric grid stability, sourcing of materials, and many other issues need time to resolve. And finally, many people just want to make their own choice about what vehicle is right for them.
Mr. President, it is time to tap the brakes on the unrealistic government electric vehicle mandate. Allow time for the battery technology to advance. Allow time to make BEVs more affordable. Allow time to develop domestic sources for the minerals to make batteries. Allow time for the charging infrastructure to be built and prove reliable. And most of all, allow time for the American consumer to get comfortable with the technology and make the choice to buy an electric vehicle.
Sincerely,
Supporting Dealerships
Maybe you should just post these threads in the proper forum....
Or at the very least, learn to live with opposing viewpoints.
Of course it CAN happen. On anything.
Like the owner said, the real question is how it's gonna be handled by the brand.
"We are the voice of the customer"
-Guys marking up vehicles $10k over the msrp for the last 3 years
I have no love for Stealerships and have been disgusted by the markups/gouging these thieving bastards have perpetrated on people.
Doesn't change the fact that these shitboxes are piling up on the lots due to a ridiculous and unrealistic mandate. Not to mention the serious real-world issues with owning one. Batteries are not going to advance enough to fix the range and temp issues.
You can change out the fried part on the electric bike too. If You have 0 experience with rebuilding an engine , and none of the tools You might need You would be screwed either way. And if I had a crank go that soon on a new bike, I would not be cracking it open myself. I would want the manufacturer to help me out with it.
One big difference is that the Varg has a 2 year warranty. How many MX bikes have a warranty at all?
Its new, so fewer people will know how to work on them VS gas engines.Just like when gas engines were new and people had to open them up to fix them. Without knowing what happened to the Varg, Nobody can really say if it is something that can be fixed by the owner himself or not. The great thing about electric MX bikes is that they are MUCH more simple than a gas engine and trans. Many fewer parts. Fewer things that can go wrong.
Like I was saying before, things will happen and Stark taking the time to set up dealers with Demo bikes that they can work on, should help people out when they run into a problem like the OP has. Hopefully He is able to get it fixed quickly. I doubt that Stark would try and place blame on him ,unless he did something really obviously wrong. And even then, it would be in Starks best interest to help him out and use anything they learn from the issue to help avoid future issues.
It also doesn't cost 7k to replace a bottom end.
The Varg's battery is far from being cheap.
I think they already found out.
Why would you replace a battery , and not repair it? While under warranty I'm sure Stark would replace it. But out of warranty , it might like buying a new engine instead of putting a fresh crank in. Or buying a new engine instead of replacing a spark plug. If a few cells are bad . or a broken connection.
Who knows what's wrong with this Varg anyway. Unless I missed it, all we know is that it started to smoke. I will assume that it stopped smoking too at some point. It could be as simple as a loose connection that heated up and melted the connector or some wire insulation. Or who knows. That's the point. I think the example of a blown crank was just to point out that stuff happens. Not place the level of damage on an even scale.
Saying the Varg that started to smoke needs a new battery is like saying a new gas bike that is smoking , needs a new engine. There is a lot of missing diagnostic information.
I am happy for the people who are afraid of Electric taking over though. There was just way too much positive stuff out there.
As time passes by we will see if replacing a battery becomes something that is as common as blowing up a 4 stroke engine to the point that the bike was worthless or not.
When 4 strokes blow up they cost more to fix than 2 strokes right? That is the risk that people accept when they buy a 4 stroke. 4 strokes tend to need less maintanance , but cost more when they need it. Electric might be similar, or depending on what ends up being the weak link, it could be cheaper. If You run race gas , it's is most likely costing You more per hour of runtime than somebody with a Varg will end up spending per hour of runtime for a battery.
I love the "engine" section on Stark parts website: the only thing you can buy are bolts, washers, plugs and gaskets...
The rest lasts forever.
I didn’t post this thread dumbass, a moderator of this form did
I can live just fine with opposing viewpoints but when you and a few others contribute nothing but trolling in every thread all day every day it gets annoying as hell to have to skip over constantly. Your “arguements” are completely off topic and make no sense, we’re not talking about cars or generators here we’re talking about Stark Vargs specifically, that’s it, not the idiotic ESG agenda that you somehow equate to it.
Not to mention, there is no "frame". It's essentially a battery with a swingarm and forks mounted to it.
You crack or damage that box (for lack of a better description) casing it or the errant rock and you're fawked...
LMAO... These e-threads all blend together with the same annoying fan boi cheerleading.
That said, you didn't post a thread called "Want to learn about ebikes" in moto...."dumbass". My point stands.
Pit Row
LMAO.... they also blend together with the same fucking trolls who will stop at nothing to bad mouth Stark...
Never forget that some of your homies said they were stopping child slavery by buying ICE bikes...
Agreed shit happens, I'll say Stark is faster than 2024 YZ450F but not by much, Tomasunas had his bike die on him after 5 hours.
As you say, what matters is customer service and if the 3 videos I posted above are anything to go by, I'm expecting Tahoe to get some news pretty soon.
You know Racing, I quite like your contributions these days, will I see you at team meeting with Anton next week?
Your lucky not to have a fire there.
Wow that's some serious shit, did you email Stark customer service and send them this pic? They should get back to you real quick. Keep us posted.
Uh are you clueless? All those parts are replaceable.
Yes, they replied and said they would talk about it. The bike has .58hrs on it yes less than one hour. Never been on the ground and all the updates loaded great and charged it several times without problem. It did ride very well and seemed all good. Then I noticed the phone said the bike was 0% and I went to charge it, but it would not even turn on the charger and when you press the button it flashed red. Then it flashed blue but smoked and shut off again. I decide not to touch it and I disconnected all the wires due to the risk of fire.
Rest assured you're going to get the best lip service humanly possible.
I would bet dollars to donuts stark takes care of this MxDick.
Maybe they can overnight him a new bike. DTC, FTW!
....and so it begins.
(I'm genuinely sorry to see you having issues like this)
