Seems like a lot of posts about shock/linkage setup and questions/issues.  Anyone try the REP rising rate linkage for the new generation KTM's?  They claim you do not have to change your shock spring rate and it changes the ride height 4-5 mm and it gives a more linear curve.  MXA had a good review of it. They claim "test riders quickly felt improved comfort in the initial phase of the stroke. The suspension felt more compliant on small, square-edged bumps, and rear-wheel traction was increased." So there ya go!

That is the one part I wish I tried before selling my 350.  I don't think it would have been the silver bullet, but I enjoy trying suspension configurations.

At 6'1" and 225 lbs my 450 ktm 23 seems too big for me. The 6500 inserts come with 10mm spacers for the husky forks... I put them in and run the forks flush and running more than 105mm sag, just to lower the bike a bit

I posted this in the other thread (2023 KTM 350 SXF or 2023 FC 350 handling issues?), but figured it would be useful here as well. Motion ratio curves for the 2023+ KTM and 2024+ GasGas chassis. 2023+ Husky is pretty similar. Ride height changes are approximate and measured where the rider typically sits. Measurements further back result in bigger changes in ride height:

The longer the linkage arm, the less progressive the curve. But it's a small change relative to changes in the knuckle itself. I've included the curve for the knuckle design we're working on (with stock linkage arm length) as well so you can see the difference.

Hey Billy, how does the curve look if one shortened or lengthened the shock by 1mm?  Would it change the damping curve or just move it up or down?

The curve would remain the same, it would just be like moving over 1mm on the x-axis (or in the case of this plot, about 0.3 percent). A 1 mm change in shock length wouldn't be noticeable. 10 mm maybe; that would be basically a 3.3% change moving the curve left (or right if the shock were longer).

I’m still figuring out my 24 350sxf. I’ve got kyb spring conversion and REP linkage. Front end still feels twitchy and struggling to feel comfortable cornering. I have trouble laying it into a corner and then feels like it wants to pop out once I get in. May go down a spring rate in the forks. I just installed the Ride engineering 23.5 offset clamps but have not ridden it yet with the clamps on, we will see… Are most people liking running more sag like previously mentioned? I’m at 105.

Bone stock with a 5.0 spring I thought the bike was absolutely amazing with the sag at 109. I’ve since ran 106 and the front was twitchy, the rear felt like a jackhammer on acceleration chop. I just had jbi do a re valve and bladder kit on the shock and his specs/valves in the forks, but I have not put any time on it (besides a few motos and I didn’t bleed the cartridge correctly, so I’m not going to count it).

I will hit GH Tuesday and report back with good news hopefully. Shock was night and day better even with my forks riding low in the stroke

I'm thinking about going big on the suspension when I get the 350, with a conversion and coatings has anyone took the plunge yet?

We definitely don’t have the same local tracks, that’s for sure. The Austrian 350 bikes are getting people to switch from brands they’ve been on for 20+ years around here.

I am sure they are and like I said most of them won't be on them for long. It's been the same pattern since the bikes came out. If they where not getting off the 350's most of the bikes at the track would be 350's by now.

Riders are selling to 450s to get 350s in my woods. Anecdotal evidence is proof of nothing.

It's a defined pattern. Sorry if it's not popular with the fanboys.

It's the same in my area. We must be the outliers

Likely just the front fender and number plate.

To get everything else to fit, you’d probably have to swap subframes and possibly the fuel tank.

Just a reminder bleeding the air out of the small bleed valve screws on this air fork is super crucial!  On my22 yzf, they did not seem to generate much pressure when I would bleed....so did it but not religiously.  These forks really seems to generate more pressure per ride.  I spaced bleeding for a few rides and was chasing feel/frustrated because I had them working decent prior.  Cracked the screws and a ton of air came out, made a huge improvement and back to working well

Anyone compare slip on mufflers from Akro vs FmF? I have read some of the normal ball gargling reviews, would like some real world opinions…I will eventually be putting a slip -on, on my 24… leaning towards an Akro as I had one on my last generation 350”s & it held up extremely well. Hey it’s off season…. Beats an oil question👌

No experience with the fmf, but I really like the akro. Smooth power delivery and pretty quiet until you twist the throttle

If you haven’t, I would get an ECU before you touch the exhaust. Way more bang for the buck in my opinion

Agree 100%, first thing is a tuned Vortex..probably don’t even need a slip on, but what the heck, only live once…

I never want to discredit someone from what they want. I’m just speaking from experience since I have done both.
I went with FMF full system so can’t speak to the Akro. But the FMF is fantastic in my opinion.
