I just spoke to a long time industry insider who shall remain nameless. Not to pile on Stewart here but his opinion is that Stewart has made many incredibly dumb moves in the past that have put other riders in danger, ie Preston, Tedesco, Carmichael, Partridge, etc. (Actually, that is more a statement of fact than an opinion but I digress.)

He feels that because Stewart rides on his own private supercross track every day, coupled with the fact that he knows he is almost always the "fastest" rider, he has developed an attitude that every track he rides on belongs to him. Even as a fan of Stewart's speed, after watching the events of Saturday night, as well as the last 7 years, it's kind of hard for me to disagree with him.

And I can't excuse them with the standard "it's just racing" dissmissal. Everyone makes mistakes as we are all human, but for the life of me I don't remember Carmichael making so many--if any--of these kind of moves that have put so many other riders in danger--ESPECIALLY this late into his career. He's been a pro since 2002 for God's sake.

Also from James' perspective during the race it may have seemed that Chad was "on a mission" to take him out. After looking at the tape he may have changed his mind.

I agree with this, though he MAY still feel it was on purpose.

I think in James mind he was sure that Chad was going to try to take him out when he was in front of Chad, and then when they came together I am sure he was furious.

Pushing the bike off the stand was not the right thing to do, but I THINK if Hannah, RJ, Lechein or Bradshaw did it it would be thought of as funny and legendary by many. JMO

Many forget to realize that when this sport grows, it must maintain professionalism. So when you say it would have been funny if Hannah did it, that was over 20 years ago. Times change, the sport grew. It was a bad decision, one which is adding to his ever growing pile. One was a racing incident, the other was just plain stupid. This guy is what 21 or 22 years old? Time to grow up, at the very least have some respect and manners. I still say the AMA is by far pussing out. Get some testicles will ya

that's almost certainly true...IMO.

James does do some bonehead things. He's not used to riding in the pack and when he is, he's looking to get around...and he can do it quickly. But, he makes mistakes on occasion that could be pretty dangerous.

Hopefully this is a wakeup call and when he comes out next time and ends up mid pack he will be a little smarter and more patient. Looking at A1 he did show more patience than in the past. We'll see what happens next.

you need to read what kyle P. wrote. Jame pulled Kyle's bike farther on the landing.

Mahem you might want to actually THINK before you post something. What is it with kids these days? Are they all uneducated or seriously lacking common sense?

Actually, it's his conduct at the Kawasaki Rig, after the Race, that Validates your Theory.

I disagree...the RC and Bubba crash at unadilla was a result of lines crossing not out of stupidity. Bubba wasn't letting off nor was RC and that happens some times in racing. The preston incident was just him wanting to get back on the track as soon as possible and not being able to see over the 12 foot finish line jump to see if some one was coming. The partridge incident was a bad move and not paying attention to where another rider was on the track. james fault and luckily partridge didn't get hurt.

JS couldn't see over the 12 foot high jump???? Oh brother!

Dude, Preston was 20 feet in the air, above and to the right of James and JS a perfectly clear view of Preston......if he would have bothered to turn his head.
But the flag man should of seen what was happening, it was on the finish line jump...

Jesus Christ! How many times is someone going to spew this shit! Look at where Kyle's rear tire landed........It was in the middle of the landing ramp! Front wheel came down late because he had pulled up on the front end , trying to keep it away from Stewart!

please go re-watch the video in slow motion and get back to us!
