James has often stated that he wants to top the King's SX record of 72 wins.....thats a loooong ways up as it stands now. He is going to have to settle down and start some big winning streaks if he hopes to get close to that mark. What does everyone think? Personally, I think it is going to be much tougher than he might have originally thought....

I didnt think he ever would, 72 is alot of wins. MC never missed a season like RC and stewart have. (although he should have missed 97, he only won 2 or 3 right?) Im not just bagging on him cause of the Pheonix thing.

its gonna be hard with dungey and villopoto up there..and this gives other riders a chance since josh grant is out..reed needs to get his shit together cuz he is really lettin this championship slip..but i think stewart will make a comeback and be up in that top 3 in the end

I dont' think he ever had much of a chance. To get to 72, he'd have had to go to the big class much earlier in his career, and he'd have to ride much more like MC - smoother, less crashing, less injury downtime. And probably, he'd have to make less money; when you make as much as he has, why would you stay out there?

You have it eactly right, anyone that knows Ryan knows that he is driven to win and thats it.. he is smart and will not take any huge chances if he has the points lead but he is only interested in this championship and realizes he cannot control others fate. Pretty darn mature for a kid his age!
