Right out of the gate Ping was hit with a bombshell he didn't seem to be expecting.
Tough listen, Kenny is a brave guy for putting it all out there. Respect!
Listened to it today. Well worth listening to, imo.
I love the honesty, truth sets you free. Good for him.
Lookin forward to this one....

i hope KW makes it thru
K-dub always has the best stories. Lots of people forget how much he contributed to pulp mx after Lindsey left the show.
Kenny Watson is the fucking man. Cheers Kenny and Ping
Not managed a listen yet
Does it mention if KW and Matthes have any type of relationship now?
They were tight back in the day,Ping and Steve dont like each other,so for KW to move to Pings platform seems a big F You to Steve.
Cant wait to listen on this weeks commutes
Dunno about Matthes/Kenny, but I don’t see it as a FU, and neither should it be.
Plenty of interviewees have already been on Matthes pods, then also do Gypsy, Ping etc.
Could also be Kenny just want to get his story out again after a period away from the game?
I didnt mean just the interview
KW has started a podcast show on Pings WTS platform called Inside The Rut
Ah yup, Righto 👍
Yeah, I think it's Kenny burned his bridge by being a complete ass the last year on Pulp and now has little or no relevance. The "rut" podcast was bad when he tried it before and will likely continue to be bad.
I wish Kenny would have stood into the mic a bit more. Have to turn the volume up to hear him then Ping blows your ears out, great stories so far though.
Half way thru. WOW.
From all the podcasts I heard, always thought Kenny had an edge to him. Listening to the first half, It is totally understandable why. It takes a lot of courage to tell a story that personal and damaging. I really felt for the guy. But, I also am really happy he found a path forward. All the best to him, I am sure he is an awesome dad.
It was also great to hear the stories from the Plano days. I got to hear Steve Wagner's side years ago. Shark Energy really messed up the works financially. Seems everything was leveraged through sponsorship dollars from them which never materialized. Really a shame. Being from this area I pulled hard for that team.
Kenny and Matthes started Pulp together. Kenny lost interest and bowed out while Matthes kept building it up to where it is today. Pulp is a very polished platform. They stick to a schedule and have very good content. Kenny seems pretty shaky with his delivery and I don’t see this being a long live podcast. Kenny is motivated now but will he be six months from now?
Kenny was great early days if the pulp show but as his interest went away he got worse,
I liked his early podcast that dealt with some of the sports issues and the not so fun side, was hoping maybe he continues down those lines
Sorry man....the early interviews were best. Now it's mostly drivel in between product endorsements every 5 minutes.
Pit Row
That was heavy. I can't even imagine.
Just like racers, Matthes has people paying him to advertise their products for them. I’ve never seen anything wrong with the way he slips in sponsor plugs throughout the show. I never listen to the show live so I fast forward through the 20-25 min commercial break. That would be a little annoying to listen through.
I appreciated Kenny Watson's transparency. Quite a few of the topics I could relate with personally. Well done, and tons of respect for that 3 hour conversation.
As a the marketing guy at Plano Honda for a minute after the Shark deal fell thru, I always felt for Steve. Super kind guy.
I raced that series in Mexico they were talking about that same year. It was a real shit show. Racing was the last thing on those guys minds.
Totally agree. Almost like when Howard Stern was back in the early '90's, he was raw and hilarious, now, just like Pulp...meh.
I've always been a huge fan of the OG K-Dub, just brutal honesty always. This podcast takes it to another level. Watson, you're the man, Your daughter is blessed to have you as her dad.
Yea that was kinda of a blast in the face, dude has some demons for sure I wish him the best and hope he continues to win the battle with those demons.
Considering Kenny's childhood, the fact that he worked his way into the moto industry and eventually managed H&H is impressive. I mean, those early years are super critical in your development. Makes me wonder what he couldn't accomplished if he had an average/normal childhood. Then again, sometimes it's adversity that turns you into a warrior and makes you charge ahead. Interesting interview in any case.
That was a good listen.
OG Kdub sounds like he's aged a lot since he left Pulp.
Dude provided me a lot of entertainment in his Pulp years, I hope he crushes it with the new podcast, I'll be listening.
Cant wait to listen this tomorrow, I love Watson and I have been wondering what is going on with him these days.
Paul Linsey and Matthes started it together. Back when you couldn’t cuss and the show was mad uptight. Then Kenny came in and basically showed everyone how much better radio is when you’re loose and care free. The guy really helped 180 that show. It was pretty corny before he showed up and then it turned into something totally different and Matthes really fed off it literally and figuratively. They were a great radio duo really.
Kenny couldn’t stand that the shows were 5 hours from what I remember and you could count on him start to throw a fit around the 4 hour mark of every show like clockwork haha.
