After Chad Reed took James Stewart out during tonight's main event in Phoenix, Chad Reed hit James Stewart in the head while both riders were still laying on the ground. They showed it in slow motion on the big screen right after it happened and the TV crew said they filmed it, but I don't know if they will show it on the Speed program tomorrow.

Chad Reed always seems to take a poke at another rider when he crashes with them. I remember watching a clip of Reed hitting Billy Mac at the MXDN. Tonight looked a lot like that when they showed it on the big screen.

No wounder Chad Reed was suspended and fined. What a poor sport! And not just me saying this, there was a whole stadium that saw it tonight.

I would have rathered Reed pick James up by the throat and throw him over the berm, at least give them a real reason to fine you, not a love tap on a helmet, James caused it and Reed was pissed big deal, AMA are such a bunch of pussies.

What does Chad expect to happen? You pull an (alleged) questionable move, then hit James in the helmet. Might be a BS move of tipping over a bike in the pits but so was slapping a helmet.....

I hope they don't cut it out of the TV broadcast tomorrow.

The way I read this is that there was a bit more to it than just a slap on the helmet. Probably why Reed was fined....

I like Chad, but I wouldnt be suprised if he just called it a season after this. No points in the first two rounds and being forced to miss the 3rd. Whats the point?

It's 3:44 am and we just got news that the appeal filed by Chad Reed was upheld. No penalty will be given. Now, we start typing!


Makes me wonder what the AMA based the original fine on. It seems they made their original decision in haste before they had all the info. I mean what, the fine was first made within an hour or 2 of the race finish and then another few hours they reverse it. Why not make sure you have all the info before making a decision?

Oh well the AMA never cease to amaze and it gave us goofballs something to talk abbout.

I am pleased to hear this news. Although I think Reed should officially be suspended for the rest of the season. (even though he is probably done anyways)
Every single year he finds a creative way of taking out Stewart, under the cover of "a racing incident"
