To clarify something from the JWR situation with Yamaha: They wanted the deal.
The rumors about them not being happy with the budget etc. are very, very false.
Yamaha notified them that they didn't have the deal on Sunday. Leaving them in a scramble to rescue deals for 2024...
Yamaha made a lot of friends in 2023!
Thanks!
I was listening last night and I thought I could make up the same
Yeah looks like it.
I can see Yamaha prefering Vrt over JWR though.

Brian Bogers to REVO GASGAS Racing Team
This is, undoubtedly, the best thing that could have possibly happened to Bogers. Excited to watch him take advantage!
It’s a great thing for all parties involved. It’s great to see Mark and Sam get a guy capable of running up front. And great for Bogers to get back on Austrian equipment. I think those bikes will be pretty good too
Why is this such a great move for Bogers?
Because he really wanted to go back to an KTM group bike. I guess there where not many teams and spots in line for him.
To get back on a a bike he wanted and a decent team like Revo, yes you can say it’s a great move by him.
Cas Valk will join Josh Gilbert at Gabriel KTM
When I spoke to him at Arnhem, he said that he was likely going to become a construction worker as there was nothing.
Alberto Forato was pegged for this REVO ride at that point.
Bogers went from that to a bike that he loves with factory support and back to his (enjoyable) role with WP. He got lucky.
I can confirm this!
Austria positioned REVO as the 'number two' team behind factory GASGAS. Gabriel will fill that some role within KTM.
So Forato to di Carli then?
Forato to Standing Construct
I did not see this coming. Like at all. I would have thought Valk would be in a factory team in emx250 at a minimum. Or am i missing something about Gabriel becoming a factory (supported) team?
Thanks for the info/update Lewis.
Pit Row
Cas Valk was signed by KTM and going to VRT who was the "factory KTM junior team" before switching to Yamaha. Now that VRT is out of the picture, KTM put him in a private by factory backed team.
Who will fill spot Guadagnini left at GasGas?
KTM, Husqvarna and GASGAS will run one MXGP rider and two in MX2 (except for KTM with Sacha being the third).
They switch back to 2 MX2 guys and 1 MXGP rider. They signed Rossi as their new MX2 rider
Confirmed aswell:
- Guadagnini to Nestaan Husqvarna Factory
- Bogers to REVO GasGas Racing
All the best to Gabriel and i understand that ktm was in a tough spot with vrt backing out. But i cant imagine Valk would put a deal with private gabriel with ktm backing as his #1 desired spot when silly season started
I believe he is still getting the same package as what he would be getting if he went to VRT.
Semi Factory Engines etc.
Simpson seems like a decent person to work with, I think it will benefit Valk. Just wish he would ride GP’s instead of EMX250
Louis Vosters's team line-up for next season in MXGP on Factory Fantic bikes:
- Glenn Coldenhoff
- Roan van de Moosdijk
- Kevin Strijbos as riders and physical trainer
Sounds like a great team, not competing for a championship but a regular top 5 should be possible.
So Now that SM Action Has announced they will become the factory Fantic MX2 Team, have there been any riders linked to them?
