His lead was nearly ten seconds with two laps to go. Backed it down near the finish.
Not frustrating at all, the more international talent the better. I'm glad Jett chose to race in the US.

Don't disagree with the criticism of American riders not wanting to go, etc. (although with the Vitards jumping online and ripping them yesterday I totally understand the hesitancy). The criticism of riders who volunteered and came up short is pretty disgusting, and it seems to be a uniquely "Ugly American" phenomenon; I don't see a single comment from other nations criticizing their riders for not winning....
However, I'm not sure anyone has said anything about wanting to get paid to go? I've been very vocal about the Guiseppe Mafia shaking down the global MX community, but to my knowledge I've never heard riders say they should be paid to go. I do think the teams should be given compensation from the Italian scumbag (living in Monaco), since he and InFront are the only ones benefiting financially. What a scam...he basically takes huge advantage of the fact that individual team patriotism will not only draw a huge contingent of competitors, but massive crowds. My level of disdain for Youthstream/InFront/Luongo et al has no limits...
Well not me but Team USA yes it sure did.
Also lets talk about what a little dutch prick Kay De Wolf is. His ignorance is no different than a young Jeffrey Herlings and thats a great way to get people in the USA to not want you here racing as he stated he wants to come here. After the way he raced this weekend and per his interview with Lewis we dont want Kay De Wolf in America until he matures a little bit and learns some humility. Dont you ever disrespect RJ Hampshire like. RJ Hampshire will straight beatdown Kay De Wolf 9 times out of 10 in Europe or American so shut your scumbag mouth. If you you ever ask yourself what the dutch people are like just go watch Kay De Wolfs two motos from Sunday.
Sexton is actually a very technical rider and does some of his best riding on hard pack tracks. I think you're just talking out of your ass at this point.
Was hoping for 3-5 place finish but we went and we tried. All you can ask from them boys
I agree was thinking the same thing. Sexton would have excelled on that track. I think Deegan would have made that track his b*tch
You know what goes around comes around right? Kay still needs to mature and I'd love to see him in the USA right now...he will be raped in SX and the boys will put it to him in MX. It takes time to learn how to be respectful and humble.....
Nevertheless, thank you to team USA, Craig especially for jumping off the sofa, RJ is a racer with heart and the ol Cowboy AP...they flew the USA flag with pride and I'm sure they had a great time. All three are legends.
Sorry but race 3 really wasnt anything new or anything impressive by Jett we have seen it all summer
True
What did he say ?
AP in the last moto was really the only disappointing ride I thought. Especially after finishing 5th in moto 1.
RJ came from pretty much last in both motos. Second moto he was maybe the second best MX2 rider after Vialle.
I don't think anybody expected Craig to be in the top 10. P16 in moto 2 was maybe 2-3 spots behind of where I thought he'd be.
Moto 3 he was also in a start crash with Guillod and Geerts and made it back to 20th. To put it into perspective. Guillod and Geerts "only" made it up to 14th and 15th. Plus he had back to back motos which was probably not the easiest coming off the couch.
They had some really shitty luck this weekend. Otherwise they could have easily contended for the podium. They were never gonna beat Australia or France
RJ would beat KdW 9 times out of 10 in Europe or America?
Kay was faster in Free Practice, then beat him in the Qualification Race and both motos.
I think the answer to why team USA is no longer successful is because the sport has evolved.
Gone are the days of team USA being head and shoulders above their Euro counterparts. Euro riders have pushed their techniques and bike setups to become hyper specialized at moto. They are more familiar with MXGP race formats and they are more familiar racing each other. All these familiarities add up, and racing is more competitive now as it has ever been before. It seems that only the very best USA based riders can overcome these unfamiliarities to win any year weekend at MXDN.
If MXDN was ran by the AMA and formatted like an American national with AMA rules, Team USA would be more successful.
Euros have home field and advantage, and nowadays things are so competitive that USA can only overcome that advantage with our best riders on home soil.
Not a Jett fan boy by any means, but its hard not to respect his talent. To come from near last to 6th in the first moto on that narrow track, and then cruise to the win in the 2nd moto without putting up a sweat, (when he just raced supercross 2 weeks ago), hard to argue he is not the fastest motocross rider in the world right now. He dropped Febvre like a bad habit on Saturday when Romain was pushing. No rider in the world would even come close to beating Jett in an outdoor series right now in my opinion. Chase could not even take one moto off of him this Summer (unfortunately) and I think he is every bit the level of any top MXGP rider outdoors.
Jett seldom looks like he is overriding the track either. I feared for Febvres life 10 times during moto 1 on Sunday, he was SO sketchy riding at that pace with Prado. His bike was swapping out and dancing around all over the place. I honestly thought at any moment we would see his bike pogo stick over some fence. And as fast as Romain was pushing in moto 1, Lawrence ran equally fast lap times in moto 3 when the track was destroyed and he did not have to push the pace to win, pretty unreal.
I just hope that Sexton and other American riders can come up to his level, otherwise Jett is going to do a ton of winning over here for the next 10 years and things might get a bit boring in the 450 class.
Pit Row
Tell me you've never met Kay without telling me you've never met Kay
Right 9 times out of 10 mxon counts as 1 as a whole
yep a bad day for team Australia is the B FINAL!
Do you have the same disdain for Feld and MX Sports for their low purse before SMX?
Lol...not quite. Luongo is a full-on crook. A lot of the money in SMX came from NBC (or so I'm told) as a result of the combined championship. Still, Feld should have done better by their riders (who make the show) long ago...
You must be talking about a different Chase Sexton. The one I've watched all year long has dropped his bike in every condition, let alone on a track like this. I think there would have been an ugly crash for him waiting here.
You've just got to look at precedent, and in a race format like this, you really don't want to risk having riders post multiple drop scores.
He could have also come and beaten everyone quite handily of course, we all know he has the raw speed. But let's be honest, we know there's a very high likelihood he'd grenade it in a corner, perhaps even multiple times in a single race.
Just watched the highlights of the race.
1. The GP riders have upped their game from the days of old. They had to or continue to get smoked. They have-for a while. If the U.S. doesn't send their best best team EVERY year, you can count on more 8th place type of finishes.
2. The state of the U.S. riders with regard to the MXdN is now no longer one of national pride, but one of convenience and greed. If it works for them, their schedules, and their bank accounts they will do it. If it doesn't, they won't.
I'm over it.
It was all over by then.
It looked like a crazy race. Nobody went 1-1,2-2 or 3-3. A team needed some luck for sure. Strange race day or what ? In 2000 all the riders that where supposed to be up front where.
Yeah but you'd never know they'd won if all you had to go by was Febvre's demeanor after that last moto . I think he was pushing for a better individual result .
Post a reply to: 8th best team in the world on a bad day.
