Sure seems like Jettson is in his head - last few interviews I watched Chase was constantly making excuses and saying I'm better than this. Guess what Chase, you had 11 rounds to be better and you didn't get it done. Please stop making excuses and just race and show us.
ET3 was on cruise control to his 3rd SX championship and to say otherwise is not a good look

Is Jet in Chase’s head? Yes. Is Chase in Jet’s head? Yes. That’s how individual sports work.
But it’s when you get your own head straight, that you win.
I don’t think anybody is worried about the Jets with Wilson in there. The defense didn’t look good today either.
I’m an absolute Jett and Hunter nut hugger but he’s not in sextons head indoors- Sexton laid up on that one and will go 1-1 next weekend in the Coliseum.
Doubt very seriously he, laid up.
But I don't doubt that he can go 1-1 for the $$$ next Saturday night.
Laid up? I doubt it. By his own admission he just wasn’t on the pace all weekend.
Sure that's what he said and it's probably true, but it's also what someone with class and a clue says instead of "yeah I let him win......"
This is a brand new format. They are making decisions on suspension based on what ifs. And they don't have any history of riding these new settings. One reason I think Ken is so good here aside from that he's just fast. But since on the Zook, he's been saying I like my suspension leave it alone "I'll adjust to it". But everyone else, new track, new dirt, new suspension. Maybe they get comfortable right away, maybe not. But there must be a comfort level knowing how the bike will behave. But yes, the mental challenge for Chase is a big hurdle. Jett thinks "I buggered up" Chase thinks "why can't I stop buggering up"
His reasoning for doing well was he's back on sx suspension but what was he on when he would have lost the championship to ET sans ET's injury. Chase has the physical talent, just a big mental monkey to deal with. Did Jet do it to him? No, but Jett sure built on what ET started.

Yeah he did but it would've been someone else to end Jett's win streak if it weren't Sexton. Jett wasn't winning that night.
I understand why you would say that, but I respectfully disagree; in 2022 when Chase lost the red plate to ET3 outdoors and Tomac won about 9 moto's in a row, Chase only said Eli's riding awesome and I need to be better.
2023 Jett is cleaning up and Sexton's response is "I'm better than this!" What message is this sending? Could the other riders hear this as Chase inferring that I'm better than everybody else and Jett was somehow lucky?
Compared to Jett's humble attitude after he just matched James and RC in the record book
My personal subjective opinion is that Chase would benefit from trying to change his perspective because he didn't get it done outdoors. Chase is one of the most talented motocross/supercross riders of his generation. His comments are not helping him
I was unclear regarding my ET3 comment: Sexton is the 2023 AMA 450 SX champ and there is no * behind this, He earned it and he doesn't need to defend or justify it like he did in the broadcast interview Saturday night
