Which clutch perch/lever system is the most bang for the buck?

I'm looking at getting either an ARC RC8 or Works Connection Elite perch... kinda curious about the Magura.

Works Connection:
Pros
• Price
• Lighter pull?

Cons
• They don't make a brake lever - does the lever shape feel similar to stock?

ARC RC8
Pros?
Cons?

Magura:
• It's TWICE the price of the WC perch. Reviews say the pull has a slightly lighter feel. Is it worth the dough for a practice rider?

I've had a WC Elite perch for about 2 years now. Absolutely NO complaints with it. One of my biggest pet peeves is up and down lever slop. None here. Most of my friends use the same setup.

Not sure about the ARC setup but I've never heard bad things about those either.

Sunline makes all of Mooses sttuff. Sunline and ARC split in 2009 I believe it was. I run Sunline stuff and it is prolly the best stuff out there on the MARKET!!!!

I've been happy with the WC stuff. Yes, I'm sponsored by them. I ride quite a bit and their products hold up extremely well and they look great still. If I didn't like it I would just keep quiet and look for another company. Smile

Honestly ARC isnt that bad. For half the cost, you can't go wrong. And if it fails they back it up.

Magura hydraulic clutches are NICE! Not $200 nice but nice.

Up/down slop is the ONLY reason I'm looking for a new setup (not worried about breaking levers)

"Needle bearings at the pivot point" sounds magical...

Plus it would be nice to have a less expensive & less complicated design (over the ARC).

I have an ASV C5 Pro perch/lever combo sitting in my toolbox. It has just about as much up/down slop as the stock lever. Maybe that's not the case with the Magura one. I'd like to try their "Shorty" clutch lever, but not at the expense of floppy levers.

I agree with Tiki about the price... but the hydraulic clutch has gotta be nice, though!

Me too.

Hmmm... I'm leaning toward the WC. Does the Moose have bearings at the lever pivot? It looks like a budget ARC without the bearings.

I run the stock side brake lever. I don't have issues with breaking levers so I don't need folding ones. I don't really notice a difference between lever shapes.

You won't be disappointed with WC.

I don't notice the up/down slop because I crank mine down at the pivot. Maybe I will now though. Haha!

I really like the hydraulic clutch and never adjusting it. Once you get used to the feel, it never changes. It's pretty cool. No hot and cold feel, dragging, stalling and etc.

I too have the WC and absolutely love it. Lever pull is easier than stock and zero up/down slop.

You didn't mention it but take a look at the Hebo hydraulic clutch. Same idea as the Magura unit but it's way nicer. They used to come stock on Gas Gas bikes, not sure if they still do or not but that's where I got mine for my '05 KX250. I think it came in at about $180. If I upgrade from stock again it'll definitely be my first choice.

Go hydro Noob. You will not regret it. Imagine never having to adjust your clutch mid moto again. Also the feel is always exactly the same.

I've run WC, ASV, and now ARC. All are good, but ARC is the best of the group. ZERO slop. Super tight and just a great feel.

I've got an RC8 (with no hot start) clutch, an ARC brake lever, and an ARC front brake clamp. I don't think that I'll run anything else after trying this setup.

Buy the genuine ARC stuff - not any of the previous Sunline or Moose relationship models. Either ARC directly or I believe that BTOSports carries it online.

I just heat up the stock perch and squeeze it with some pliers . Tight as a midget hooker after that.

ARC, Moose is also ARC. Oh and I love Olga Kuryulinko (sp). One other thing almost all of ARC products are made in Santa Ana, Calif. .

I agree with this 100%.I run the exact same setup and have the same feelings on it.Its awesome and bob from ARC will back his stuff 100%.If anything happens or wears out he will make it right.
