OP I would suggest looking up the huge stadium races that happened in the USSR as those were the first stadium motorcycle races on man made tracks that I’m aware of

Lets see, technology, other sports, cost to play, time to play and running out of places to play. The only growth the promoters care about is the tv audience. I still dont u.derstand why the manufactures are not more involved in preserving or supporting riding areas.

Me too 100%, my point was there was a lot less competition for entertainment back then, and large events like the one in OP always drew huge crowds because people had little else to do

It does make me chuckle when folks say the crowd at a national was huge. I've seen huge.
