Public announcement from Chick-fil-a:

Don't forget to visit our freshly opened franchise in Cairo, Georgia. It is located in a warehouse formerly known as Star Racing Yamaha but due to it being full of chicken anyway the transition was swift and seamless.

Cluck, cluck, boios, cluck, cluck.

Not only did they say it to Deegan they said it to Webb and anybody else on the team that got the call...Common sense seems to be a problem amongst the conspiracy theorists.... This is why the teams should make an announcement regarding their support of the MXDN....

Just imagine how many people are confused about what’s happening that follow the sport and aren’t on this forum. It’s truly remarkable how bush league this stuff is.

LMFAO! That's like asking a bank robber if he is guilty. I wouldn't believe that mutherfuker if he said Abraham Lincoln was on the five dollar bill.

Star did nothing more than confirm they are out. Nothing about telling riders they would not allow them to go.

Keep trying.

Blows my balls off that the article is saying Craig. Are we really left to a rider that hasn’t raced all outdoors? No offense to him but this is getting out of hand. Holy hell we have the most resources of any country and can’t field 3 riders. Patriotism my fucking ass.

From a Euro’s point of view it is bewildering as I always think of USA being very patriotic.

Mind boggling 🤷‍♂️

No matter who goes, this event costs a lot of money to attend.

I was told that to fly bikes (6 to 8 motorcycles) and riders and mechanics and tools and support people, and house and feed them can be approaching 180 to 200K for one fly away event.  You also have to travel one week ahead of time to get over the jet lag and test with local race fuel too.

Plus more than likely this will be a muddy race, so extra parts and wheels and tires need to be considered.

If the USA had a strong team it may be worth it, but the fact is so many of the best guys are switching teams and doing other stuff that sending a team of less capable guys may not be worth the money to the guys who cut the checks to pay for it.

Don always trys his hardest to defend deegans no matter what yet we're the biased ones hating. If you want to see don in all his glory go read his "unbiased" claims in the bike claim thread.

That being said, perhaps the Deegan’s should help fund it- I am sure the extra publicity, YouTube clicks and apparel sales would cover the costs. Might be a good ROI for Deegan..

😂😂😂

Australia’s third rider, Dean Ferris, is packing his suspension and maybe an engine to take with him for a bike he’s organised from someone in Europe.

Anyone who says they can’t race without team support is full of shit.

Team support doesn’t necessarily mean parts and bikes, if the team won’t allow you to go that would be considered lack of support…

Yet funnily enough Australia and New Zealand send teams every year from the other side of the world.

I don't know , not sending a team because you don't think it's strong enough is pretty weak in my opinion . I thought so back in 04 when they didn't send a team to Lierop for similar reasons . You have Plessinger and Hampshire . Go down the line of American 250 riders till you find one that will go . Out of respect for the sport and the event . They're the effing defending champs and you can't send a team ?  Ridiculous .

I’d send Hawkins on a 250. He’d give it his best effort and that’s all any of us should care about.

Whether it’s the riders or the teams that decided not to go is irrelevant.  Right now, you and I and everyone else has no solid information so we are inferring and speculating on second hand information.

It’s disappointing that the US has got to this point.  It’s downright disgraceful that everyone is hiding behind “too expensive”, “too many extra races” and all the other excuses.

Most fans would be in a better frame of mind if there was some straight up honesty from everyone - riders, teams etc.  Then you could deal with actual issue (whatever it is).

My personal opinion - there’s a bunch of people (teams and riders) that need to learn some fucking humility.  Go and race for the fun of it on a shoestring budget against the dozens of other teams doing the same thing.  Despite the dollars being thrown around, professional motorcycle racing isn’t having a profound impact on anyone.  Get over it and have fun.

MXoN isn’t a surprise each year; everyone knows it’s coming.  When they drop an SX round next year to have 30 races overall is Star or any other team going to trot out the same excuse - too many extra rounds we didn’t budget for?

The problem is your implying a meaning of those two sources that does not exist. Your implying Star told the riders they where not allowed to go and saying I went tinfoil.

Unfortunately for you doing so seems to lack common sense. Oh the irony.

Wasn’t Star willing to support DF14 if he was selected. Even stating it would cost ~$70k? It does feel like the team is stepping up to help protect the reputation of their young rider.  Which, if true, is pretty great of them.

Team Canada are doing it for $65k (Canadian) based on 15 personnel.

No need to send a squad.  How hard would it be to arrange with a Euro team to have a bike (yes singular!!) for each rider, 1 mechanic,  take engine & suspension as luggage. Hire a sprinter for a week or two and have fun doing it with minimal resources.  Bet the fans would love this and give them the respect due for putting in the effort.

But what do I know I’m just a fan of the sport 🤷‍♂️

How the hell is Canada managing to do it with 50k USD then?? Someone is getting scammed.

The AMA has production rule, my buddy CRF450R has the same frame as Chase Sexton 450R, why ship Chase Sexton full bike? Ship the Engine and suspension and then rent a 450R frame in Europe to lower the airfare, Tyres? Dunlop sells in Europe, buy a bunch of MX32 and they will make you a good offer, Plastics? Cycra sells in Europe, buy them here, the price is the same (Barring currency), Graphics, handlebars? The same. By shipping less things=less cargo=less airfare.

Or ask Giacomo Gariboldi (HRC MXGP team owner/manager) if he has any of Tim Gajser's or Ruben Fernandez's CRF450Rs gathering dust in storage waiting to be ridden again, he's also Honda NILS WSX team owner, he has Kevin Moranz and Jordi Tixer WSX bikes ready to be ridden, but it seems those bikes won't have much hours by the end of the year.

If Deegan wants to go, ask Yamaha MX2 Factory team the same, Plessinger? If Roger wants to reduce cost, he should ask Tony Cairoli if Aaron can ride Herlings SX450F because Herlings will not race MXoN.

There has to be a way to reduce cost. There's no way it cost 200k to send a team overseas, if that were the case, the Spanish federation wouldn't have been able to send a team Last year to RedBud

How about all the fans spending their hard-earned to attend ? Flights and hotels booked  months ago, only for a no-show by the entitled US 'stars'. Guess they don't care about their fans...

Osborne and Mike Brown have just been in UK and Italy, racing vintage bikes. I'm sure they would both stay on and ride if asked, they wouldn't win but sure as hell they'd try their hearts out ....and they'd be crowd favourites wherever they finished.

Send Julien Beaumer ... he can ride Sacha Coenen's bike ;-).

He's young but there are some younger kids competing (Coenen L., Reisulis brothers...).
