Will there ever be a new PENTON dirt bike?
Great first post---- yikes
Maybe...if the Sachs transmission has more gears than neutrals.
They changed the name to KTM because most people from O-HI-O could not pronounce Pen-Ton.
That is funny but truthfully...that whole back story is pretty cool.

Wow! Brings back memories.
The Penton was so finicky...the CZ...stomp and go.
Thanks for the comments about the PENTON bike.
I would buy one.
Sorta hoping for a Carabela comeback first
I like all the old vintage dirt bikes. But PENTON is my favorite.
I have a few old ones.
They already did one. The first PDS model:

I want a new Hodaka.
Very cool backstory. This is a great book.
I had a 1972 or '73 yellow tank 250, the first ones to come out. Great bike wish I would have kept it.
Had an MC5 back in the 70’s…. Not really my favorite scooter
Sold, how much is shipping?👍
Yep
Because you like kicking with your left leg?
Pit Row
Don't go there brother man. Lots of iconic bikes were "backwards".
Not many folks have enough power in their left leg to full stroke a big bore more than a few times. Everyone I saw got off and right leg kicked those backwards fuggers.
And 180 off topic but why do these kids keep trying to kick their bikes in gear? I mean...wtf. Even the electric start bikes don't like it. Learn to feel/find neutral.
Had a friend back in the day (Geez, how old am I?) who started on Yammies, then got a KX250 in 1974. Very good rider so in 1975 bought a Husky. Learned to use the left leg to start. Bought a 76 RM and would get off and kick the bike with his left leg. Yeah, I have never seen that duplicated! Generational talent? Okay, back to my jigsaw puzzle........
I remember seeing a Carabela and it used U bolts for bar clamps. Even as a little kid I was going WTF...
Amex, Ossa and Kramit were cool 70's bikes also. Best was the twin carb Puch that Harry Everts won the 250 championship on.
Speaking of, anyone know how to watch the John Penton Story film now days? I raced the Jack Pine this past weekend and now i really like to watch the film but cant seem to find it unless i want to order it on Blu-ray.
3 KTM brands are enough
Yes, I like that. Right side is backwards.
3.5 with the kissing cousin Triumph
KTM would not have any say in a new PENTON.
I think you can watch the flick on Amazon TV.
Why not? They own the company:
