     Please, that is a reaction anyone would have after watching the national title dissolve. I do not believe Deegan was going to win the title, but he had a better chance than anybody else in the class up to that point. Overreaction, maybe. Understandable…definitely !

I don’t have a problem with it. I could only imagine the emotions he was feeling in the moment. Busted his ass to catch Hunter. So close in the championship. I’m sure every person on his team wanted to beat the shit out of that bike in the moment. 
 

He handled it fine after he cooled off a little. I like seeing the raw emotion. I’ve kicked the shit out of my own bike for a lot less.

He's a kid that was on the cusp of accomplishing more than anyone thought he would this year and saw it go away.  You don't hindsight something like that without taking into account everything, including that it happened in an instant.

I can understand the frustration he must have felt.  And while I do like it when a rider is more classy. He is not the first and will not be the last to have a bike break and do something in the heat of the moment.  Bradshaw was throwing rocks at a MXA photographer onetime when they were taking pics ,imagine if a rider did that now?!  Unless this becomes a common thing, I think most people will forget about it  in a year. He learns quick, and I think he will learn from this. Imagine what You would do at 17 if You just saw Your chance at millions of dollars in bonuses , and a dream  go away in an instant.  

It must be a strange feeling to just look at those amazing bikes, cool custom helmets ,etc.  The same way a  construction worker might look at their work truck, cordless drill and hard hat .  Just tools to get the job done, bike blows up , its like a tool  failing when You are close to finishing a job.     

 Its funny that he took out banners for 2 of his big sponsors. Monster and Yamaha at the sametime.

If it was me it would be worse, a 17 year old fighting for an outdoor championship in his rookie year against a 24 year phenom who has been racing a 250 since he was 15. 
 

go ahead and hate on a 17 year old I’ve showed more anger hitting myself in thumb with a hammer. Lighten up if this pisses you off then you must not be passionate about anything in life. 
 

Waiting for the comment “Hunter didn’t throw a fit when his bike let go” Hunter is 24 and he threw a tantrum when robertsons supposedly crossed jumped him at southwick. 

Better than an aw shucks automaton. He should have been pissed.

The kid has passion and determination to win.  Nothing wrong with the way he acted in this situation.

Hope some of you more sensitive folks never get a glimpse of me in my garage if a bolt gets stripped or something.... if I had what he had on the line I probably would have injured myself taking it out on that bike.... it's fine....

Actually it's a very good look, show how much he wants to win.  Passionate.

Everyone has different emotions. Some would do the same thing, some would just sit on the track and cry. He was giving it 110% and was in reach of the title. If this was someone out of the title or not battling for a race win or podium then I would be questioning their actions. 

But remember when Peick was a beast and praised for kicking his bike off the stand and beating the shit out of Vince Friese?

What's wrong with it? I think it's a worse look when old farts (of which I am one) sit around criticizing a kid for a completely understandable reaction. 

Nice insight there Sasquatch.. Deegiebabes is young and the hardships, "ala" the cam chain shitting itself in this case will only better prepare him for the journey ahead. 

He has put in the work and has had the red plate once so far in his roolie season, that's a fucking awesome achievement in itself. He is young and he and will move on. 

Ya, the damn lows in life only cater for better things to come. Furthermore, it is 100% human to show frustration when things go South after all the hard graft. He will remember this and when his day comes he will appreciate it more.

I agree. I would’ve kept kicking the engine until it  was busted out. Then put a beat down on the wussy’s behind the fence.  As a former basketball star we did a lot worse . Kick bubblers off the wall & throw it threw the mirror, break lockers, anything really. Beat adults, adults yelling bs at ya, slam there knees into your back when your in foul trouble on the bench. etc. a lot more emotion in b ball tho. Old phrase where winning something tonight the game or the fight. 

It is in those moments of great duress that character is revealed. In this case this character kicked his bike that up until that moment carried him to a red plate temporarily. Disappointing but if stomping your bike is your definition of passion then maybe you are cool with that. 

I see nothing wrong with his reaction. I would have done the same and not felt embarrassed by it.

Pretty sure my neighbors can tell when I'm working on my pickup in the garage and things aren't going so swell. Oh well.

Yeah I've never thrown a wrench, cussed at my bike or thrown a golf club.....frustration at his level is something that none of us in here have ever had to deal with....his passion and competitive nature remind me of a little red head coming up that also made a few mistakes while growing up as a pro...

A "Not Great Look" would have been if he let his emotions get to him and go over to engage those douchebag spectators or screamed out of frustration at the guy in the golf cart for no reason.

Read more of the comments since I last commented and had to watch the video again to check if I missed him kicking puppies or something. There's way too many insufferable moralizers here. 

Hahahaha, golf clubs.  Ever thrown one into the pond or wrapped one around a tree?  I've had to reshaft a couple clubs in my day.

But yet there are many that want to crucify him for something that they have no idea or understanding of the frustration and pressure at that level in that moment....

Really isn’t a great look when your bike blows up at a National race, with points being so important. 
I am sure Yamaha will get to the bottom of it.
