Man, that guy hauls the mail and is always leaving it all on the track. But he has a family and these repeated hits are gonna take a toll on him eventually. He is a great dude and I hate to see people take these kinda hits to the head with the research being done now proving how devastating they can be long term. But as we all know riding dirtbikes is an addiction and we always can’t wait to get back on the bike, might be time for him to ride for fun! Just my opinion.
Your gonna cop some shit for this post but I agree
I also agree that its hard to watch him crash so often. I know he must want it as bad or more than anybody on the track. I deal with long term effects from injuries. Concussions' , and other injuries. I wanted to be faster too fast for my ability. I can see it now. I don't know if RJ could do better if he slowed down and tried to smooth out? I think everybody on this forum can understand and respect how much RJ wants to win. And how hard it would be to step aside , knowing that You are right there , on the edge of being one of the best in the world every time you get on a bike. I do not think I could quit if I was him. I would always wonder , what if I just stuck it out and broke through to that next level? But then he has a wife and kid to think about too. That might make it easier to walk away. I don't know, I just hate seeing him go down so hard more often than most.
I just think the guy is badass, he has no quit in him! But that may be his biggest downfall if he is not careful, and he isn’t alone. Just watching that today was hard.
I can't stand these types of posts. It's up to RJ .and RJ only.

Yah his determination could be clouding his judgement . I know it clouded mine and I was doing it at a much much lower level. I kept going until I hurt myself bad enough that I was in too much pain to enjoy riding anymore. I am lucky to not have worse long term effects from my injuries . I have friends who are far worse off. I would hate to see RJ forced into stopping from an injury.
I would love to see him stick with it and never crash again, or never have one of the big ones .If its possible . When I heard it was him down , I was worried . Red Flagging an outdoor moto for a downed rider is not as common as SX. and RJ is so tough . I was worried it might be worse than it appears to be as of right now.
What other riders at his level , have gone down so hard , so often? James Stewart had some big ones. But seems like Bubba was not hurt much when he crashed.
Why did you click on it then?
Very scary. AND, the head injury he recovered from in 2015 was extremely serious.
Another one that comes to mind besides Alessi is Cianciarulo.
I've thought the same thing about Michael Mosimon. He's missed a lot of time due to concussion protocol. As well as his current shoulder surgery.
Didnt see the race today, I assume he had another big getoff and rang his bell again?
Yeah it was a good one, he got off the track under his own power but was out cold for a good bit.
Maybe he wanted to give his opinion, like you did by starting this thread?🤷♀️ I mean having a different opinion then yours is okay, isn’t it?
I agree with your opinion too.
Fair enough.
His issues have been arm and shoulder issues though haven’t they?
Agreed. I think that 2015 head injury made his "KO switch" very easy to flip.
Hope he is alright.
Yes, maybe Adam wasn’t the best direct correlation to this specific incident but he has wrecked himself more times then I can remember also.
Don't remember this incident, fill us in on some of the details.
He needs to get off the 250 and race a 450. Not everybody can be a 250 champion, dude killed it in SX on the 450. Not many people can jump into 450 SX with little prep and go win their heat race in a demanding fashion. That shows his level of talent on a bike. I really do think there is something to be said about overriding a bike that causes these endless crashes.
Pit Row
From memory, 2015 Red Bull Straight Rythem got knocked out really bad, maybe in a coma for a week or so, then a month of intensive rehab. Someone can fact check that (I'm going off of fuzzy memory) but it was bad. It was incredible he came back, and then achieved what he has.
He honestly might qualify for a retirement insurance policy if he had one in place. Hopefully they write that check first. Like Emig, Pieck etc.
That is extremely inaccurate. He was unconscious for "several minutes" not in a week long coma.

Agree should give the 450 a shot. Might allow him to smooth out a bit, know it’s a small sample size but he looked good when he raced it
Thanks for the clarification. Show's how bad my memory is.
Just some bleeding in the brain like it’s no big deal…. I agree he needs to start looking at the bigger picture. One of these concussions isn’t gonna end well with his history
I said this about Zach Bell years ago on here and I got completely flamed for it. Sure enough the guy kept crashing and left the sport not long after. It does suck. RJ seems like a great guy. But man, simple physics and bodily anatomy tell us ya gotta change something and fast.
So you're saying that only people that agree with you can comment...that's kinda lame...
Zach bell went to off road and got a title his first year and has been pretty damn competitive since (some i injuries)
Now that I think about it, we shouldn't be surprised of how fast jett is on the 450, the 250 may have held him back from showing his pure speed. Yes I almost fall asleep during 450/s because he has a lead and is out front and nothing else in the top 5 is going on that tv wants to show but thats besides the point. The people that are crashing in 250's that are around the age a lot of 450 guys are, probably need to get on the 450 so they can show their pure speed and not let the 250 hold them back and maybe cause them to crash.
RJ is fast but unfortunately that's about all he's got. It's not coincidence or just bad luck which gets him into these situations all the time. He's got some serious questions to ask himself moving forward
Zach Bell still races dirt bikes for a living broski.
