Only 92 riders in the whole USA that got bumped from B to A, this is less than 2 per state on average. The system is really still a bit flawed. The top B riders know how to skirt the system for sure. When you have a system based on points per race they just sandbag a few races that do not matter and thus are able to stay B. With so many being bumped from C to B , that makes B class huge. They really need to do something , maybe lower the RPV for B to A and also add additional criteria. There should be way more than this going to A in any given year.
I agree with Wardy , take away contingency for B and C and I bet a whole lot more would be going to A.
lets not forget that any rider can advance themselves in class with out approval. If they feel they are ready, then they should move and "wait to see if they get moved".
be nice to have to make a rule so that if a rider moves themselves to soon that we move them back, used to be riders wanted to move up and not stay in a class until they get the boot. today riders don't do that much like in the past.
we lost over 500 registered riders here since then.......
and advancement hasn't done real well in taking over for us here in d-17 til this year.
B should be the largest class actually.
scary part, is the lack of 50cc riders in this sport around here. 50Jr was practically non existant.
Pit Row
National caliber "B" kids will not move because of the contingency money. With Kawasaki, at least in 2009 you could run 2 classes per VIN. Some races paid $250 a win, that's $750 (or more) bucks a weekend for a 15-16 yr kid to make running dirt scooters.
Why move to A and race with more competition, unless you're forced. Now in 2010, if the $$$ dries up like everyone is speculating, it will be interesting to see how many of these kids, decide to move to A, where they belong anyway?
They bumped me up to 50+ with little warning. Bastards !
I should have felt it coming.
