Remember the big uphill and downhill jumps that went up the bleachers? How come they dont have Supercross there anymore? It would be cool to see James Stewart come sailing off that downhill jump!

That big stadium jump they had at the X-Games SuperMoto a couple years ago was pretty wild.

The Stadium Parking lot holds 10,000
Sure they opened all kinds of other venues to park cars, they had to.
Pro Pits took a 1000 parking spaces.

The issue is cost to lease the other parking areas, and police them.

Then (I bet), the theft rate is higher than anywhere in the continental united states.

I too was at all of them, including 1972 & 1973.

Don't mistake what I am saying, I love the races there...I would go back in a minute. I always get there early, and park V.I.P., because I can.

I know back in the day we had to keep someone at the van when were unloading and then loading the van because of the people roaming around and did hear of some parts, tools, and riding gear that came up missing.

I liked the place, got to ride it one year. the peristyle scarred me the first few times, but I have a killer pic of me blasting down it.

All I can say is the USC football games are held there and the place holds 95,00 plus for football ...........and is sold out for the next few years.

I think your right, it does hold 95,000...But the point I am making, is it still has parking for about 30%

it sells out, that is no doubt...Then you are required to park in lots all over L.A. and risk having your vehicle robbed

The stadium can hold that many for football but they don't go thru the peristyle either and they also don't sell seats where it is possible for a bike to end up.

But the neighbors across the street like it when there's an event there. In 97 or 98 I remember seeing people selling their lawns(that's being nice) for parking at $10. It's like valet parking. Just leave them your keys.:O

it seats almost a 100thousand. and no dis to the blacks here and abroad but the crime and the chance of getting assualted by blacks in that community for both whites and non-whites was way over the top. one of the worst hoods in the US at one time...not sure about now but i wouldn't want to be the guinea pig.

Went there in '76 and watched Ellis win and local Brian Jodry do pretty darn good I think in the Support Class.

'97 I think, me and Davis went there. They ran 2 races there that and yr before. Yeah, up and down the peristyles(sp?)......We were there yr before, one had the mud..

RCs first SX; all over the place...Scott made main on cracked sternum; cased triple early in heat...

Was when Roy Janson went to ClearChannel and gave the speech about no more jerseys untucked; mechanics wearing proper apparel....How they were gonna make SX a real Pro sport....

Then Deegan ghostrides over finish winning...think at 2nd one. Funny after that big wig speeches he did that.....

I went to those first two. Marty Tripes won both, first on a Yamaha then a Honda. I have the program from that year somewhere.

I was there in '98 and there was fire damage from recent riots. I liked the place and had a ball.

Rumors were after the races there were always jackings, muggings and a murder, or two, as people left.

Just how I remember it from Cycle News, or whatever source we had.

In 76' I crashed on the double jump at the bottom of the downhill. Was taken to LA County Hospital at left on a gurney in the hallway for hours! My Dad raised so much hell they kicked him out of the ER. Finally they did a urine test and found blood in it so they decided maybe I might be injured Angry Bone heads! I couldn't wait to get out of that place.
