There's one amazing one out there, and it was taken by Paul Buckley and it ran in Inside Motocross. We also ran it a few years back in Racer X. Might have to dig it up, but check www.buckleyphotos.com

I became a huge Clement Desalle fan this year when he did the exact same thing at one of the GP's last year. Can't remember which one. Maybe one of our euro fans on here has a pic of that. Clement is one of a few kids these days that wants it that bad. He launched litteraly 100ft + into the flat.

That's insane.. Look at what he's launching into. Not only is he 30ft in the air w/no relief for the landing but he's also staring at a bunch of ft and 1/2 tall breaking bumps..lol I would give anything to have a recording of his thoughts as he thinks about the landing he's about to have to absorb..lol

I was standing right where Kehoe landed and I have to tell ya... that was one of the hardest landings that I have ever seen! It was crazy yet so awesome the same time! I remember how pumped everyone was that day for Kehoe and Honda of Troy! Good memories for sure!

"Kehoe didn't crash (amazingly enough) but he did beat McGrath in this 125 moto at Gainesville in 93. It was a pretty awesome moto and I wasn't watching the lap boards so when I saw the white flag come out I was on the wrong side of the quarry to get a shot right at the finish-line so I got a spot where could at least shoot it.


Fran Kuhn (editor of Inside Motocross) took my film back to California to be processed and then called me later that week to tell me about my killer finish-line photo they were using as the opening spread. I thought he was kidding at first, he couldn't mean the photo I had shot from half way across the track."


and Someone did this PS of the photo. but looks like he kinda exaggerated the hieght (in the Hall Of Fame there is still the 'Best moto pics' thread)

The best finish line pic is of Omara and Ricky Johnson, Daytona I believe 82. They were in a battle for second and Omara just skied the finish line jump and flat landed it.

thanks for digging up that quote. That was a great moto and I'm very lucky to have gotten a sharp frame or two of the finish. Maybe I'll have to add that one to my classic photo section.

I remember Kehoe moving the bike side to side in mid air because he couldnt see where he was going to land! The lip of that hill was built up really steep that day and all the riders were getting alot of air on the finish line jump and landing really hard. The braking bumps were insane all the way down the straight so he was prob worried about landing on the face of one of them. I remember that like it was yesterday! Awesome moto for sure!

Ya that was Shoug 03 if I remember right. I remember watching him do this in practice. I was amazed because th track was still super moist and he was riding like it was a sunny day in florida.

Not the best picture or angle of this launch but it was pretty big.

He was certainly pissed when they gave 2nd place to RJ.
