All the people that keep chasing the dream, spending all that money, and then you have people like Casey or even DF14 without offers for a ride. Crazy they think this is a career path. The system is broken…

If you made it to Lorettas and you don't ride ANY moto because it rains, youre an asshole and don't deserve to take a spot at Loretta Lynn's unless it's was impossible to make the gate (injury or catastrophic bike failure). One place there's no excuse for it.

I'm a giant fair weather rider, but, not at a national.. I get it, bikes are expensive, but.... You took a spot n didn't even ride..

I agree with you, but they didn't "take" a spot like buying an entry.  They had to qualify like everyone else and what they do with that is their business.

He helps train riders at Bakers factory. Does the whole program, cycles, gets his riding in after the day's are done.

Casey has one more year on his amateur contract.  The plan Husky has for him is racing Loretta's one more time, unless there are big changes over at Husky and they decide to pull him up earlier than planned.

Brownie claims to ride very little these days. He said he goes weeks and over a month at time without riding but puts the time in he can before big events like LL and Vet Nats.

Well.. kinda solidifies my opinion that once the professional skill set is obtained/built/acquired/earned, it doesn't go away..

When you're 50 something and can train/get paid to train on a professional level off the bike, your professional skills remain golden on the bike..

I can't wait to see him ride a national.

Before the brownie ball washers and wanna be big heads come for my throat, I do really admire the dudes ability to remain such a beast.. He has my respect..

This seems to be a thing for Husky until a rider proves they can run up front at the pro level. The last rider they took pro left Loretta's without a pro deal. Everything is year to year with them and a big part of why they lose so much top talent. My understanding is he still doesn't have a contract for next year.

Daxton didn't have a deal with KTM that would take him to his pro transition and they wouldn't give him a guaranteed pro deal either.

KTM group needs to revamp their amateur program if they ever want any success in the 250 class.

That said, I'm glad to be home from the ranch. This year was not fun and enjoyable at all for me. Between the rain that wouldn't let up and 2 flats on the camper, I'm done for a while. I've been going for a long time now and have never had a bad experience until this year, and that's no fault of anyones. Sometimes things just happen.

It's always interesting when people complain constantly, year after year, and don't ever attempt any action to change what they don't like.

It makes the whole argument illegitimate and appears like the complainant has no leg to stand on besides acting like a pest

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Define constantly? This week? Maybe once or twice a year in random posts here, on a moto forum, a place designed to share thoughts and ideas? Weak.

Cotter has heard my thoughts. Guarantee DC has as well, either via cotter, or here, or mx sports email last year. I don't hound them but I've shared my thoughts and by posting in places like this they can see I'm not the only one.

I share pretty respectfully (albeit with a mildly dark sense of humor sometimes) and with legitimate reasoning behind my thought process. Shoot me for having a differing opinion. I've been doing this stuff for 28 years of my life. I'm not here to cause shit, but I'm here to discuss and share opinion about moto on a discussion forum.

Loretta’s was a good time this year, not sure I’ll get all the mud out of the toy hauler ever. Lol

to everyone complaining about the C class riders. Why is there even a C class? Just get rid of it completely, problem solved.

My kid races 65’s. There’s no 65 or 85 C class.

The C classes give everyone except the flaggers a chance to go to the bathroom, get some food, hit the creek, work on bike prep, take a nap, check Rocket League, etc. Underrated importance.

Story is actually I bit better than that. I met Nico and his dad Shane at area qualifer at pala. Gave them a few pointers snd put them in touch with Greg at game moto.
Much to my surprise, after he qualified from regional he flew home rather than going to game for a month. He raced in NZ then Flew to Australia raced the Aussie national championship won that then flew to LA, drove to Oklahoma and did a week with Greg before heading to Loretta's. Kid had never seen the track before and had done 1 week of training. He beat kids that have raced there since PWs and we're on their 4th or 5th trip to the ranch.

He was pretty damn good in the dry but once it rained he put an absolute clinic on. Don't think even they expected it. Well done Nico.
