Again, waited until the very last minute though…
Herlings chose to race in Europe and not in America, so the "put up or shut up" doesn't apply here. Maverick's point, that most would agree with, is that when you take a rider of Jeffrey's caliber, it's not much of stretch to suppose that had he chosen to race in the States, he would have done good in both supercross and motocross. There's very little doubt in most people's minds that he would have adapted to sx and been a front runner.
3 posts and two of them being a complete dick...hmmm....for those that don't believe in reincarnation here's your proof that it truly does exist....at least on vital.
I don’t get guys that say the 125/250 class is not a professional, and or “is easier” than the 250/450 class. If you take the top 10 in the 450 class other than Jett right now, guys like AP, AC, DF, CS, CW etc…..wouldn’t be cracking the the top 10 in the 250 class. What did Sexton do in the 250 class? That’s right, not much

When and where did Herlings have similar laptimes to Marv on a sx track? I doubt it
If it doesn’t apply then people shouldn’t talk like he would have been better. I understand most GP riders stay in Europe…where they are from….I just don’t like the talk of how great they would have been had they come over…especially in SX….because it belittles the amazing riders here. Historically the majority from the best from Europe have disappointed here in terms of championships. Those statistics do not support JH would have done better here then the riders that DID it. You can have your opinion and I can have mine. The historical data does not support yours..
deerlick Big Mike's balls.
This is a very bold claim considering that AP, CW, AC and DF are all 250 Pro Motocross National champions.
Lewis that was a great interview. You don't get interviews with top racers without having some relationship, so I didn't see your being friendly with him as anything else but that.
My findings from podcast:
Jeffrey gives no f's. He use to, but now he not uptight about where he finishes. Jeffrey vs Tomac or Jett he really doesn't care, just keyboard warriors care.
Vital trope of where Cooper beat Jeffrey in Charlotte therefore Jeffrey is not FMOTP was covered well. The head games that Cooper said to him before the race admittedly got in his head. But he didn't think nothing of it and had dinner with Cooper the following Tuesday. And they are "bro's" now.
Jeffrey has ratio to being hurt to crashes is higher, by his own estimate, than most. Seewer has had some wicked get-offs but seems to bounce and has missed very few races.
Jeffrey is like Stew in that his career will have far less championships that he should have. Lots of wins, not the right number of championships.
I thought this may be interesting to some... Herlings' overall results across his career. A lot of gold and silver.
I've been sucked in. Herlings missed the podium 17 times as an MX2 rider and 20 times in MXGP. Little difference...
Wow I didn’t realise he was so dominate in 2013. 2018 was also total domination. Was Gajser injured the whole season?
It's crazy seeing it all laid out visually like that, isn't it?
Gajser missed round one with a broken jaw, but rushed back for round two and raced the remaining rounds.
So that was the year Gajser broke his jaw, what was the reason he didn’t challenge Herlings for the rest of the season? All I hear is he was injured.

You make very poor arguments, crashes happen. Or are you going to argue that Jett Lawrence wasn't a top 5 guy when he was battling for wins in his rookie year?
Imagine being so petty and afraid of your own opinion that you make a burner account just to dribble out nonsense like this.
Yes, and most of them are shells of their former selfs compared to when they won 250 championships.
Pit Row
Gajser rushed back, so was far from ready in the first half, and just never quite got there; he was a third through fifth guy.
Herlings was at an incredible level that year though, remember, because Cairoli threw everything at him and it didn't work.
I love that this forum thread has unfolded in exactly the way that Herlings talked about at the start of the interview.
I hope Jeffrey is reading all of this and laughing.
Okay, I'm done now. Jeffrey's moto results through his career. It's similar to the overall results above... A lot of colors!
Lewis did you toss Jeffreys salad after this interview?
I wish I'd seen this coming. I'd have chucked in a comment at the end like: "By the way, you are terrible."
I didn't hear Austin Powers, I heard Irwin Mainway.
I think your head would have exploded if you said that.
The saying in journalism is "There's no cheering in the press box" but in my opinion I like being involved in a sport where the journalists are such fans. It's a sport of passion and there's no fake hype with you.
I speak my truth, good or bad. I can't be fake... I think that's why Jeffrey and I get on.
Reminds me of one year at Millville, as track crew I would spectate on Mt. Martin. I would cheer for the Sexton/Tomac battle and an AMA official came and told me I couldn't cheer trackside for TV purposes... No chance I'm holding back cheers for a good battle. Absolutely not! We are all fans of this sport.
Catch me trackside giving them the windmill
My honest opinion. Great interview I love knowing more about the behind the scenes and the personal life of riders. I’m a fan of Herlings and would love to see him over in the US racing.
if I had one negative to say it came across a little like a fan boy interview though.
