Depends a lot on the competition at the time and the track he picks I guess, but where do you folks see him for the overall?

Surprised he doesn't want to jump in this year to get even further up the list. Is there much AMA / Pro Motocross red tape or just prior commitments / scheduling or plain doesn't want to yet?

I think people are assuming he could give it a go after LL’s; but, I’m with you…he needs to plan and invest time in training for AMA National level competition.

Brown is a 125 specialist he should do it on a 125.  It’s rare that a 50+ person hangs onto there athletic ability.  I,m 56 3/4 born with a sprinters body which is destroyed from trucking.  If I could make any money out here or if Mx paid anything. You have made this exact brain dead comment multiple times. SO AGAIN, I ask of you. PLEASE point me to where THESE GUYS (21-35 at the very last national) are getting "smoked by locals at the pro ams".

I think with his talent, and his level of beast mode, he could slap up a lap time plenty fast to get to the gate at the very next national. I think he starts out mid 20s n as the race goes on, his physical conditioning carries him into the points when other guys peter out.

In all my rants, I totally respect and admire his age and continued hunger to keep going, and to be able to!

Why would the guy disadvantage himself so badly on a 125, specialist or not given the display the 450's put on over the 250's at the last race?

I truly don't get you 2 stroke guys any more. The myth that a good rider can win on a 2 stroke is long past its use-by date by now surely?

I like 2 strokes, I used to road race in our 250 Production series on NSR's, RGV's and Aprilias. But a racer is a racer, not someone who will jeopardise results simply to follow a dream with a romanticised bike type.

and if ANYONE is a racer, its Mike Brown.

So the qualifying on a 125 thing is was puzzled you and not his first assertion that past 20th place they really aren't fast?

As Mr RigtHookNoCandy said...you really agree and think top 20-40 aren't that fast...?

I ignored that comment for the lunacy it is Smile

If a local Pro-am is beating these guys regularly and isn't in or around the Nationals, I would say it's a special case rather than the norm.

The guys around 30th-36th in qualifying are typically about 10 seconds off the leaders lap times. Looking at yesterday's +40 moto Brown's fastest lap was about 5.5 seconds slower than Bennick. Bennick qualified 1st at RedBud but 16th at Southwick and Spring Creek. Not sure if that clarifies anything lol. I think Brown can qualify and run somewhere between 20-25th in the motos.

Of course Mike is a gifted racer, and has maintained an exceptional level of fitness for his age as a trainer for Aldon Baker.

I actually ran into him at the mall earlier this year and he is looking quite fit.

But as most vet racers know well, the aging human body doesn't always want to comply with what the rider wants out of it, especially during a couple 30+2 motos on a brutally rough track...

Regardless, washed up old vet racers like myself will be cheering for Mike to kick some ass,  if and when he decides to go pro again...

Aztalan & sugar maple last yr, Chillicothe this yr.  I finally got 1 bar of service Verizon sucks in Florida. It’s not hot at all , expensive state now from the people I talked too. Gas is higher than the ne . I think it’s great Mike wants to go for it.  Everything here is horrible it’s pretty bad when your pissed that you woke up alive at 3.30 am & you hv to be abused all ovr again. Sept after running 25 hrs a Russian calls & says you do ld. From Chicago to Joliet in a slave master way. I said I,ve been up 25+ hrs call someone else,I,m grabbing 2 hrs of sleep & hang up. He calls again & says I pay you 100 dollars. I say 100 bucks is nothing. He calls again & says you do ld or We will come to the yard & make you, beat you, kill you. That pissed me off. I said get your pussy Russian fuckin ass to the yard now. Because nobody talks to me like that you fucking ass hole, fuck you & your fucking cheap fucking load.  There’s has been a lot of that crap for months. Sorry for cursing but that’s a little glimpse of the 1099 Chicago Russian mob trucking interaction.  The 1099 job is for a race budget ha another failure money wise.

Hansen 7,7 did most of the nationals I think he finished 20or 21st as his best usually farther back. . Pretty tired but I think there more. Plus the 250 class.

I'm thinking he could run that speed but definitely not finish in top 25. He wouldn't have the endurance to keep that pace up for a whole moto.
