OK so I see he's been in the GP's for a few years. 2021 seemed to be consistently in or around top 5 in MX2 but jumped to MXGP this year and been around 15-20.
Hmmm... Anton just said on the SML show that the brothers Visa status in the USA is a bit of a spanner atm... so might be leave and can't come back for a bit. Hope that doesn't impact their availability!
wouldnt this be a shake up... seems like a life long battle for that family with visa's.
didn't they have this same issue last year with the Bercy event? and then the whole Europe issue when they first left aus
Yea. But I thought that had been sorted. And the reason they signed up for Paris.
I thought there issue was the visa they were on that if they left they needed a covid vaccine to return.

Probably will, the shitty Aussie des Nation luck is undefeated haha
Not to derail the thread but that reminded me of Aussie Disney 😂
Well that would suck for everyone the boys not being there.
Didn't sound like it was an issue - more like they just had to plan to be out of the country for a week or so longer if they left for MXdN.
Jet, Hunter & Dean, Dean is beating all others at home at the moment, he has experience at MXoN, and has more international experience than most. Mitch as reserve.
I agree with this. I was lucky enough to go to Lombok last month and while Mitch seemed to fade a bit as the motos went on, he looked solid. It was hot as shit over there so punished anyone who wasn't in top shape. His fitness should improve with time. Was a depleted field for sure so a with a 40 man grid, he'll need a start, but with the factory Kawi he should be in the mix.
He will know the track and is a 'local'.
I think Ferris could be a good choice but can't see anyone else based in Aussie being any better right now.
I think if Evans continues to improve, he should get the nod, especially with being based over there and having a factory bike at his disposal.
An all Honda team with Beaton makes sense, but Jed’s still building and may not be quite up to scratch?
Ferris would also be good, but does he even want to go? He’d have to source a bike in France.
Luckily there’s still a few months to sort things. Regardless of how it develops, let’s just hope our luck finally holds for MXdN.
If Ferris can get a bike I think he would be the best choice. He has everyone here covered at the moment. The Lawrence boys and Ferris would be a very strong team
Evans would have to be first pick, but how about Aaron Tanti?
No from me.
I think guys racing wsx would be out. Or less likely.
I like to see a gamble and go with Webster. Dude is lightning fast in sand and if he stays up we’d win (given Jett and hunter do their thing). Obviously a big if but as a West Aussie I’d love to see it
Webster is fast in sand but Ernee is hard pack haha
But the race is at Ernee. And that's a hardpack track. I wouldn't take Webster.
3rd rider has to be Evans, beaton or Ferris.
Pit Row
Lawrence Boys 450 n open.
250 Evans, todd
Oh scratch that then 😂 for some reason I thought it was at a nasty sand track. In that case I think jett and ferris 450 and hunter 250 would be a serious threat
No other Aussie is gonna get a 250f even close to that of hunter’s. And ferris at the last round showed he’s still got crazy speed and he’s comfortable on that bike. If he keeps that up for the season its the best choice I think
Agree with that except that he's like 1-3 seconds a lap off the leaders, not "easily 3-5"
Japanese riders are nowhere near the level of Australian riders. Wilson would probably be a 3-6 guy in the Australian MX2 class at the moment
He got beat by Butron and Butron was like 6-7 seconds a lap off the top MXGP guys last year
Imo Evans>Webster>Ferris
Jett 450
Hunter 250
Beaton 450
I was able to attend MXDN last year. I saw Jett win the final moto. Damn he was flying. I new after he would be a terror in the 450 class and here we are. I also saw these cool dudes:
Outside of Germany, Ferris has been pretty bad at MXdN from memory.
Evans is usually better on hardpack, I'd take him for sure
Edit: actually, looking back at Ferris' results, actually better than I remember
Haha I was gonna say!
He also had a good ride going in France when Webb took him out for no reason late in the race
As stated above, it’s advantageous to have a good 250 rider. Justin Cooper finishing 4th overall in one moto last year was one of the keys. Luck too of course.
The only reason I’m posting in this topic is, I saw how close Australia was to winning last year. I’m also a big fan of the Lawrence family.
if the law's can't make MXoN then pick a development squad with 3 youngest up and comers...........
I agree 100%
