Finally rode the 350.

Weirdly wasn't feeling that stoked to try it as a 450 guy - figured there was a decent chance I'd made a mistake buying it.

Any concerns disappeared after 1 lap. Holy crap this bike is FUN. Significantly faster than the last one I rode (2013 I think).

Feels like it suits a taller guy better, felt comfier standing up than my previous gen KTM.

It came with a full Akroprovic, is it worth getting the Vortex too? Any other essential mods that are recommended?

Motor wise you will love a vortex. It makes a great bike fantastic. I had Twisted Development map mine and it is the best mod for the money in my opinion. I also swapped my air filter cage for the two stroke model ($12 part) and it gives it a little more throttle response.
I see deals on here occasionally for a Vortex so you might keep your eye out for that. 23/24 models are exactly the same.

When you say Twisted mapped yours are you saying you have a 23 350 and they were able to re map your stock ECU? I know they were locked for 23 but maybe, we’ll hopefully, they cracked the code???

The KTM ECU’s are locked for this year model. I was talking about Twisted mapping my Vortex. Vortex has mapping that they have pre-loaded but and in my experience the stock Vortex mapping is nothing to be excited about. I had Twisted Development load their mapping into the Vortex and it is phenomenal.

Damn, I was hoping they were able to crack the code so they could remap the stock ECU. Thanks for the clarification.

Maybe someone has, but I would not trust it. The vortex mapped with a reputable tuner is better than any exhaust you can buy for a couple hundred less.

Does anyone in here run a heavier spring? Racetech is recommending a 4.9 for 190lbs, that’s quite a few rates up from stock so I was little worried about that

I’m on a 5.1 @190lbs. At 105 race sag my static sag is 38mm. I had a 4.8 and my number were 105/32.

Anyone confirm the 23 & 24 350”s are basically identical? Looks like most of the 23”s with the rebates are sold out, anyone price out a 24?

Same on the 5.1. I’m 205 w/o clothes on.
I think the bikes come sprung for 170, but I could be off on that.

to clarify, you had more static sag with a softer spring rate ?

Ktm suggest you go by spring preload. So if you are at 105mm sag, your spring should be 252mm.

I think earlier versions of the 2016 thru 2022 I would round up. Not sure about new ones.

Biggest spring from wp is a 54nM.  Cannon make a 56 for the Clydesdales.

Both of those are ok, best bet is to ride them both and see how it feels.  It's quick to do a spring change between motos

The SX-F bikes are the same, the XC-F bikes have the new CC spring forks.

I decided to buy a '24 XC-F even though I plan to mostly ride tracks. Why?

* spring forks (so far they are really good for stock forks)
* better resale value (in theory)

The only real downsides that I see
* white tank (you can put on a SX-F tank if you want, I will probably leave)
* 18" rear wheel (already have extra 19" wheels from previous bike)

The XC-F also has 6 speed transmission and a kick stand. At this point, the gearing is just "different" and not sure if it is a pro or con yet.

On the way to go get a new bike I made a pit stop to pick up a fatboy spring because the 45 wasn’t going to cut it.. It ended up being a one stop shop for me.

any advice besides greasing everything?

Be patient. It takes about 8-10 hours to fully break in. No need to add a bunch of stuff until it’s broke in unless you know exactly what you’re looking for. Have fun, congrats!

So far I’m going to try the stock suspension for a bit and as far as mods go I’ll likely do a vortex or TD remap. Other than that, just bars, skid plate, chain/sprockets for now

The stock ECU can not be remapped so you will have to get a Vortex. When you do just spring to have it remapped. Twisted is fantastic in my opinion.

You can call and ask but they are now locked from the factory. I am sure someone out there has broken them but from my understanding Twisted Development has not.

My bad. I thought they figured out how to cracked them. I know they have figured out how to on the TBI ones, I’m on the list for my 125 when they get to them. Pretty excited to see how that goes to be honest.

Has anyone on here gone to a 23.5 mm offset on the triple clamps? I can't seem to get my new 23 Husky 350 to feel like my 22 on the front end....everything else is night and day better on the new gen, just the front end comfort isn't as good.

Also, has anyone had their FI light blink once every 5 seconds after putting on a Twisted Development Vortex? Went riding last night and 2nd gear was winding out like the clutch was slipping, and my FI light was blinking. Didn't have my stock ECU with me so I threw my buddies on that was off a 2023 FC450 and it started and ran and had no FI light. It was spit and sputtering, but no light. For reference, I had TD map it for ETS Extrablaze 100 4 stroke fuel (I had it cut 50/50 with ethanol free pump fuel in my tank last night and that is how I have been riding it since I've had the ECU done and have had no problems). When they sent the ECU back to me after having it remapped from my 22, the map sheet they sent with it was labeled for a 2019-2022 FC450, so I am also not sure if they mapped it for the right bike (they swear it is, but have no record to pull up my specific map sheet). Bike has 11.4 total hours on it.

I am tearing into the clutch pack tonight to make sure I didn't completely smoke it in the last mud race, but the blinking FI light is of concern. Any help from anyone would be awesome.

I have a luxon 22/24mm gen 3 on order and will update once it comes in. I am an old guy now, and want to try the 24mm offset.  I have spoke to a few guys who swear by the 23.5 offset from (i think ride engineering)  I also wanted the bar clamp options so I can play with positions.

My bike got its first wash and oil change today. I’m not a fan of having to pull the skid plate to drain the oil, but man ktm sure makes it so much easier with the built in threaded mounts. No fumbling around trying to keep a bracket in place while lining up bolt holes.

the oil screen had some bigger pieces of aluminum than I was expecting, but this is my first new bike so I’m sure it’s normal on break in IMG 1630.jpeg?VersionId=2P.dEN5 j52dbaBZV8.zKnt5fo7yUg

Is anyone added a tooth to the rear sprocket?  I am SE, most tracks are not uber long, kinda tight, thinking of adding a tooth to get more out of 3rd but want some input if anyone has?

That’s what I was hoping to hear. How are you liking yours so far? Mine still feels like riding a brick, but it’s gotten noticeably better already in the first 1.2 hours. Not a fan of the decel pop, so a vortex is on my list

I have a 2024 XC-F 350 that I am running mostly on the track. It has the 6 speed transmission with different ratio's. The stock gearing is 14/47 (yes, 4 teeth different than the SX-F). I went up 2 teeth to a 49 and it made so much better! Second gear is still very usable in the tight turn and 3 is so much more usable.

I did some back of the napkin math and me going up two teeth makes my 3rd gear almost the same as an SXF- going up 1 tooth.
