Has he passed Hunter this year in any race?

At Washougal, Hunter couldn’t reel him in.

Funny isn't it how inconsistent he is? He came in over a minute late, completely gassed and 4 seconds slower best lap than Jo moto 2 at Southwick.

I'm not a fan of the social media schtick or his nickname, but as a pure racer/rider in the sport he's completely earned my respect.  I didn't think he would be this good and he sure has proven me wrong. I thought at best he would be a very good, but not elite SX rider.  Kid can haul ass, and has done it in the man's sport of MX.  Much respect.  Amazing ride yesterday.  Need more of that.

Honestly, the last time I watched their youtube videos it was Haiden doing a backflip as a kid, and for a future racer I just thought it was stupid.  If he wanted to compete with Axel Hodges, then ok fine.  But I wasn't into the content, thought it was cheesy.  Same for the whole Dangerboy stuff.  Kinda cute and fitting for when he was a kid, but as a serious racer I think its time to drop the nickname.  Just my honest option on it.  Again as I stated 2 times in this thread.  He's earned my respect as a racer.  I'd drop the schitck and focus on racing.  If the social media content is more focused on legit moto stuff now, then that's a good call on their part.

Kid deserves the MXDN 250 ride. It's evident he's a patriot and will send it for USA 🇺🇲

I agree, and I love the fire Haiden has for his country.  It seems to be just fine for other countries to be proud of their riders; I've seen a lot of Australian flags on social media (and they should be proud, I know I would be if I were Australian).  But when it comes to Americans, being proud is frowned upon and seen as ethnocentric.  At the end of the day, it's sports and has no real impact in our daily lives, so I think it's one outlet where fans should be proud of their favorites riders, and the riders proud to represent their country so long as it is all in good faith and humor.

You do know that “danger boy” with his you tube nonsense is currently well paid and probably doesn’t have to do anything to live the rest of his days well off. That’s the cool part about this kid, he just wants to race and win. I love it, his racing, he’s literally just a kid going out there and battling with the top of the sport. I laughed to myself when on the podium at washougal he said Hunter should be nervous, he’s supposed to be winning these. 2 week break, he just just went 1-1, I bet Hunter is thinking about him for the last 3 rounds. I love it! Can’t wait to see how this all shakes out. Kid has a lot of heart. He should be MXdN.

For me there's no problem with a rider being proud to represent or be from a country but what makes it hit a little different with Haiden (Again FOR ME and I still don't have a problem with it but it does kinda make me roll my eyes) is the delivery.. Where it's almost like a challenge coming from him or that anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong and almost like he's just saying it to pander to those who also feel like that (not saying he doesn't feel it but why he's saying it) it does also seem to me like he's trying to make it America against the foreigners..

However when AP says anything like it there's no challenge or aggression behind it and it feels like he's saying it cause HE feels it and wants to let you know and is probably cool with it if you think you're country is the best haha

Edit: Should mention I'm not hating on him he's pretty young and is still finding his way in his thoughts and shit.. Geez I shudder to think about myself in his position at 17

He is better rider on hardpack track and still needs to work his technique on sand tracks even Southwick isnt deep sand. Second race Washougal was awesome from him and we hardly see that much heart from racers now, seems more are riding Dungey way just collecting points every weekend and not sending it.

I agree.  It’s unreal how inconsistent he is. The only 250 more consistent is Hunter, a multi year veteran and based on the last 2 races Deegan already has Hunters number…….momentum - And he’s only a ROOKIE. Impressive isn’t it?

Reminds me of when Hannah would pass Jimmy Weinert or anyone else and open up a gap like that. Danger Boy does use the foot pegs more than Hannah did.

My friends, granddaughter, and all of her friends think the same thing, so it’s not just my opinion.  Have you seen his numbers? He has like more than 2 million followers!…it’s sick. He’s sick! Bubba had Bubba’s World, that’s why he was chosen. Justin Cooper better start doing tik tok tricks or something….

credit to his parents as well as Haiden.  I'm sure he loves his dad and knows how much this means to Brian.

I have to admit that I was never on the Dangerboy bandwagon, but he's silenced me in that regard. Consider me a fan. That second moto should have scared Hunter a bit.

Well your friends granddaughter and all her friends and his millions of YT viewers can’t be wrong. Justin upping his ticktock game would be entertaining AF but I think if he wants the MXdN nod, he’ll need to just pass and gap the dangerous one - or not. BTW That is sick, so sick I’m going to send it

lol @ people describing him as inconsistent. He's finished worse than 6th in two motos all year, never outside top 10, finished every moto..... you'd have hard time arguing that anyone in the class has been more consistent.

Let us not forget how southwick is arguably the most physically demanding track. The kid doesn’t exactly ride like Jett or Hunter either. He probably bulldogged his way through every whooped out section which takes way more energy. Not to mention it was his first time there (he may have gone out too hard instead of pace himself for the end of moto two).

Yes, he probably bulldogged his way through it like he does at every track, but he was there last year and trained just as he was on other national tracks.

this kid has way more national prep than many other ”rookies”
