This is a good topic for the two week gap until Dilla. Nothing like a bit of controversial speculation to keep the blood flowing.
Teams earn bonuses for Championships. There is manufacture money, big sponsorship money...it filters through management then down to the rider and mechanic.
The whole team works towards the manufacturers trophy and there is no doubt that at some point their best shot for the Championship (rider) will be chosen. Their other riders will support as best as they can without making it blatantly obvious.
It's a team effort and these things will be discussed and planned behind closed doors.
They will design various strategies based off the next rounds results and one would have to be naive to believe otherwise.
We have one helluva good 250 season coming to a climax soon. I for one can't wait to see how this plays out.
yes the whole team works towards the manufactures trophy but unlike f1 there is not pay out for winning or finishing position. just something to collect dust on the shelves.
Rooting for hunter here. He is clearly the better ride he just needs some luck to fall his way. Also a few extra HP would help
Highly unlikely. What would people remember more, Jett going to help hunter who has a very good chance of winning anyway, or Jett with a perfect season as a rookie at 19 years old on a Honda? Just like pretty much everyone knows what manufacturer Ricky and James were riding when they did it. While I do absolutely agree Deegan is fast, I see Hunter get a bad start and move through the field the entire moto. I see Deegan get a bad start and does not appear to be able to do the same or just does not try. If Hunter does not have multiple DNFs I don’t think the points race is even close. I think Deegan will mature and be a force to be reckoned with, he clearly has the speed and what he did at Washougul this weekend was amazing. I’m no racer or nor claim to be just a practice day rider with 4 races in 35 years but that’s just what I see on tv.

If I was Lars and HRC I'd at least bring Hymas back in for the final three races. I don't think he could run with the Star guys for a whole moto, but maybe line up next to Hunter, pull a decent start and hold up Deegan. Not sure, but at least give Hunter a teammate out there.
Honda announces new fill in for Hymas, reports say heavy Red Lobster bonus incentives.
I would pay big money to see that.
Hymas had an ACL replaced. He is no where near ready for be "brought back"
On a side note...the only way it would even be discussed to drop Jett back down is if:
The streak ended and he couldn't gain anymore positions in the Playoff format.
Neither is likely to happen.
I still doubt it. Jett would almost certainly be giving up win bonuses even if his perfect streak was broken.
Also he’s a good chance to get ahead of AC in SMX points and get seeded in 3rd place.
Read through history- Carmichael was ‘done on a 125’ in 2001 also.
but anyway, I don’t think Jett goes to help Hunter in the 250 class.
"Let ur big bro by"
Why will he need little bro?
Hahaha,HL gave away a possible 50 points. He is 3 ahead. Then Deegs shoots his mouth of at shougal on the podium.Nothings is quicker than a pissed off Australian.wearing the underdog tag is what they do.The more ammo the faster HL will be.
That wasn't to help Brown, but rather to break Barnett's 125 win record.
